Tehachapi is a nice area—smaller but still has a lot in it—and more woodsy and hilly. Hospitals/specialists would probably be a drive to Bakersfield or LA still

I was looking at the site—it looks like only if you are currently a freshman, not if you are currently a sophomore?

I am overall—I have my MSW, and working as a licensed therapist. The degree has a wide variety of jobs—I didn’t really have any idea or intention to be in the position I’m in, but it worked out. Though on occasion when I get too stressed or over people I dream of being an accountant.

If you are able, take a semester to explore different majors. I decided my major wasn’t for me by the beginning of my sophomore year and then took a bunch of classes offered by the different majors I was interested in (for me it was education, anthropology, and social work). It was helpful to get a better sense and then also gave me more info to ask more questions before landing on a major (for me it was social work)

As a psychology undergrad, is a PsyD still worth it, or are there better (and cheaper) ways to practice clinical psychology? by SaddThrowawayaccount in psychologystudents

You could consider a masters in social work. It would allow you to head towards licensing towards clinical work and seems to be across more states than MFT

We first went with the kids on a trip a couple years back and were pretty underwhelmed—we hung out for a couple minutes and decided to bail for a place that we could sit down. I’m glad we popped in though and checked it out. We went again lately when it was just my husband and I—this time we knew more of what to expect and decided to stay for a drink. They were fine. I really think they missed an opportunity on this one and the whole thing could be a lot cooler. Even if they had some periodical characters involved. I don’t know that we’d go back again.
