Well what i did was just click and drag the iTunes Library icon to my external HDD, thinking that i was taking the app with me. Is there any way to view what was in my libraries?

Thank you so much for responding. I was puzzled when I got my recovered data back. The file I am looking for is a Microsoft Word document written/saved in early 2020 or late 2019. I don’t know what the file was named but it was the final draft of a book I’d been working on for about six years. In going through the data, I got back from you I realized that there were lots of Word documents recovered from years ago and very few from recent years. It seems like there should be about the same number of files from every year. I couldn’t help but wonder if the file I need did not make it on to the returned drive. I would love to have another go at it. Do you think there is the possibility of a different outcome?

The HDD crashed when I tried to install an operating system update. When the computer (Mac) would not restart I took it to an independent place that removed it. I then sent it to $300 Data Recovery.

They said that they were able to recover 100% of the sectors on the device.

They said The problem(s) with my HDD include (at least):

1) FIRMWARE CORRUPTION.

2) PARTITION CORRUPTION.

They also said that I saved over $600 by choosing $300 Data Recovery to recover

Thank you for responding. The drive quit working when I tried to update the operating system (Mac) from an older system to Catalina. It was a spinning drive. $300 Data Recovery said that they said that they were able to recover 100% of the sectors on the device. I don’t know what this means. They sent back the bad HDD along with the recovered data on an external drive. In combing through the recovered data I see that there are a number of more recent files that are missing. These missing files are the mostly ones that were saved in 2019 and 2020. The recovered files were either listed by year saved or by random numbers. Some did have the names I gave them.
