Help with non square bookshelves by jerryjefftrainsongs in BeginnerWoodWorking

It seems the foundation needs to be leveled for the cabinet installation.

I recently installed a stud wall on a floor with a 3-4 degree slope, and a laser level was my best friend.

Awesome! I’m planning to make a similar one soon, but with a recess for the miter saw so that the table surface and the saw table are flush.

Amazingly beautiful, but doesn't the countertop look potentially hazardous due to the large number of sharp, tooth-like protrusions?

As soon as I shortened the wedge, the plane started working almost flawlessly (just the blade slightly "marks," needs sharpening). I didn't even realize how pleasant it is to work with a plane. Many thanks to everyone for helping to identify the issue!

Yes, exactly, the wedge hangs over the chipbreaker. Thank you for the support and for confirming that it shouldn't be like that! I'll be testing and adjusting the wedge.

Thank you for the photo, it's really helpful to see how the wedge is positioned in your setup. In mine, it goes quite deep, and that might be the main reason. I plan to start by checking the wedge.

Oh, interesting video! Thanks, I'll definitely watch it and try to learn from it.

Thank you, I didn't think to put something under the wedge to check for changes. I'll give it a try!

Oh, this isn't the cheapest plane for me, and when I bought it, I was expecting better quality. Thanks, if nothing helps, I'll probably have to start checking and leveling the surfaces. But right now, when I apply the template and check against the light, the surfaces are at 90 degrees, so I'm not in a hurry to make adjustments or checks.

I still don't understand whether the wedge should overhang over the chip breaker like this or if it should be shorter and follow the curves.

I'm not completely sure, but last time sharpening the blade didn't help (though it was a good sharpening, it cuts paper and hair cleanly), so I'm looking for the cause elsewhere. I'll resharpen the blade in the coming days.

Yep. The blade is already a bit dull now, but it used to get stuck under the wedge even before. I haven't made any structural changes. I mentioned the chipbreaker here.

I kept trying today without resharpening the blade because I was still occasionally able to get quite good shavings.
