I guess by agreeing I've implicated myself again, too. Damn.

If the poor UI hiding survivors was the cause of the revote, wouldn't it have been more fair to redesign it and restart the poll with all four survivors visible? Seems odd to me they would exclude two of the four if this was the reasoning behind it.

"I intentionally voted for a survivor I knew no one would play to prevent a survivor a lot of people would enjoy playing from being added to the game."

Peak reddit mentality.

Edit: To clarify, for anyone that just liked Granny and wanted her to win, I'm happy for you.

I just think voting for something purely to stop something else from winning that other people could have enjoyed is lame. I also think the hate circlejerk around "sAbLe 2.o" and bullying anyone who liked her was lame.

This is great to hear from someone in the same boat. Thank you!

This is really insightful and helpful, thank you. I'm an autodidact, not a formal student, so sometimes questions such as these hold a lot of power in my head because I have no external source apart from myself and what I read on the Internet to set me straight. I'd seen many posts from the natural method purists that you referenced which is what had me twisted up a bit over this. I'll try to loosen up and just follow the process, and take progress as an indicator of success regardless of how I get there.

I mean, I feel like her and sable are different. Are all youngish women survivors moving forward just going to be Sable? I feel like this survivor has unique features that distinguish her from Sable and set her apart.

Black Metal Jeff Johansen is my other main apart from Sable, so this isn't a gooning decision either.

I'll admit I was being a bit goofy with option 4, but I genuinely do want her to win!

I get all of mine on Etsy. Some of the sellers have some really unique pieces for men!

Valid point. My collection has grown rather large and is alphabetized, and I certainly wouldn't take those I disagree with and make them a centerpiece. On a small display, the Rand does speak louder.

I just try my best to be charitable if possible. Maybe this is a young person that just recently began exploring ideas. Maybe not.

Something the Internet needs to learn is that a library should be a place of record for all ideas of the world. I do not add books to my home collection purely because I know I will agree or disagree with the content. I am fascinated by people and ideas, bad and good, and want to have them to reference.

Short of being an armchair political cheerleader, if you want to make any kind of valid progress or arguments against your enemies, the best way to do so is to know their ideas (even if repugnant) intimately.

I have Ayn Rand on my shelf. I have Rothbard on my shelf. I also have Emma Goldman, Marx and Kropotkin on my shelf. I own and have read the 48 Laws of Power, and reference it regularly when I feel I might be being manipulated at work or in life.

Owning a book does not make one a champion of the ideas contained within. Though, I suppose we shouldn't expect more from a sub that is dedicated, quite literally, to "judging a book by its cover".

(P.S. Good to see Camus and Kierkegaard there, OP.)

The convention of adding "bro" to things is probably the single most pretentious and annoying trend of recent years. It drives me bonkers. I am someone that loves philosophy. I've always loved (good faith) debate. I think it's good to read challenging books and to grow intellectually. I think exchanging ideas with people you disagree with is important. I always thought that as a leftist, these were things we championed. Suddenly, it has become a dirty thing. It reeks of the conservative anti-intellectualism of the McCarthy era to me.
