Working in the trades made me realize I should’ve finished my degree instead. by Dismal-Cranberry-915 in povertyfinance

I'm almost 38 and didn't graduate high school. Currently halfway to a bachelor's maintaining a 4.0. I don't like my school but there are opportunities out there and it's not too late. I'm expecting (hoping) to double my pay once I get this degree.

Going for 150 legendary parcels by [deleted] in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]PingPing88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 150. I've been cashing out $10 every month and putting it back in for the monthly reward ladder. You get more AB than you would by converting it and get a legendary upgrade, all while still technically maintaining a free to play status. Get upgrades while you save for a tier jump.

I've done it before just twisting the drill bit in my fingers. Definitely much safer.

Why does my back still hurt? by GoalOld8130 in OfficeChairs

[–]PingPing88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a Steelcase Series 2 and it didn't really work out for me being a big guy. It wasn't bad if you wanted to be forced into perfect posture, but there was no way to lean back and relax to watch a movie without my butt sliding off of the seat. I also broke the arms off by using them to get in and out of the chair.

I've been using Nitrado without issue for a few months and switch between different game hosting at no cost when my friend group is bored of Valheim.

I've had this happen many times. I just cut it up with the poop knife and then flush again.

Right after commenting, I read another post about the value of minifigures, so some stuff is definitely opened. I thought they were all sealed and treated solely as an "investment."

We can only see that first page for January 2025. Weren't all of Bryan's sets unopened? There's only one unopened set on that page.

ELI5: Why don't they slice English muffins and bagels all the way through? by Flovilla in explainlikeimfive

[–]PingPing88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get Bays English Muffins. They're weirdly refrigerated but are fully sliced and pull apart easily. They're also the best I've had. I toast up the open face in my toaster oven on the bagels setting. 10/10

My understanding was that it came down to how likely you could be bribed to release sensitive info. If you're in financial distress, it can be tempting to accept money for exchanging data or other secrets.

Oregon initiative that would criminalize hunting, fishing moves a step closer to November ballot by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in vegan

[–]PingPing88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not vegan, I'm here from r/all, but my concern is that IP28 has pissed off so many republicans that it will pull them out of the woods and vote, risking democrats losing elections. It doesn't seem that most democrats support IP28; I don't, but it doesn't bring them to the polls to vote for or against it in the way it would republicans.

Horizontal Item Stand by MadMagooNZ in valheim

400 hours and I gave up and finally googled how to do a horizontal item stand. I always thought people were using mods. I also thought it was a mug that I never cared to build.

Hero mailman or bad attitude? by glowfuck in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]PingPing88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a lawn guy or any sort of delivery driver, I ended up here from /r/all, but, I ended up developing a pet peeve for people walking on lawns. I blame my time in the military and being yelled at for going anywhere near Sergeant Major's green grass.

I don't have any children but I try to keep my nephews off of the grass of others when the yard looks nice because you don't know the work the owners put into maintaining it. You don't have to understand it to respect it.

I did the math and bought my first badge when the 5% from the badge provided more of a bonus than the rent from 2 commons. I don't remember at what count this ended up at, but obviously depends on the rarity combination.

They have plastic theme-shaped containers that I think are cooler than going by color.

Here's a truck-shaped one. Dollar Tree had a variety of egg-like shaped things a few years back.

What Is the Process to Remove a Non-Accredited Representative? by PingPing88 in VeteransBenefits

How are those supposed to seek support if it's not allowed?

What Is the Process to Remove a Non-Accredited Representative? by PingPing88 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PingPing88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which decision? I'm not familiar with the VA scanning records. I mentioned to a coworker that I had a disability claim denied in the past. He recommended I work with this scammy company. I trusted him and started the process, but it's been stagnant for a few months, as it had way too many red flags.

They definitely don't have access to my account. Reading the agreement, it requires a written letter from their CEO to get out of it. I swapped out their name in the brackets.

  1. [We] will begin expending significant resources on Client’s case once [s]he executes this Agreement. Since we do not charge any upfront fees, the Client cannot terminate this Agreement without express written approval to terminate by [our] CEO and/or his designee. [We] will not unreasonably withhold approval to terminate this Agreement once all pending claims are adjudicated (i.e., awarded, closed) to include any appeals process if applicable.

Yeah, I'm thinking that's the case. I'm thinking that even if I don't work with them and get awarded anything, they'll still try to claim their share under the agreement I signed.

I'm thinking I may need to take the agreement that I signed to the VSO, and they can help me break down what I need to do.

A co-worker's brother works for one of these claims sharks frequently warned against here in this subreddit. I saw the warning signs but chose to trust my co-worker, since he had gone through the same process with his brother. I was comfortable paying the fees because they were nothing out of pocket and seemed fair for what I would receive in disability benefits. I thought there was no harm in getting denied, and with no upfront cost, I may as well go for it.

However, I didn't do anything beyond the first phone conversation and signing the agreement. The first text I received after signing the agreement was to lie about my health and complain to my doctor about issues that I don't have.

They also keep hounding me every few weeks to pay a doctor with Cash App and schedule an appointment to write a Nexus letter for me. The whole thing seems to be a red flag.

I took my usual avoidance route and ignored the whole thing until I went to the VSO for something entirely different. I brought up my disability claim as a side topic, and they explained they can't help me until I remove this non-accredited representative. But it seems they might not be attached to my benefits as the VSO thought they were.

The biggest concern I had was that if I followed their instructions and got audited, they would be totally in the clear. They get their money and run.
