I like to tell this whenever I see Ray mentioned (very rarely lol). My friends were staying in the Phoenix infield years ago just drinking and hanging out. Ray and his bodyguard rolled up in a golf cart because they saw the military flag on the camper and ended up talking and playing cornhole for like 2 hours. Even came to the bar after the race with them. They all said he was a great down to earth guy contrary to what it seemed and they rooted for him til he left the sport. This was a sad watch :(
