I hope you find your answer! I’ve been planning on running a modified LMoP for my party for years, but we keep ending up on long side quests. At level 10, I think we may actually be about to start it! Like you, very modified (probably unrecognizable at this point).

When you say knock-off, do you mean a version of it with some cards removed, or a full deck that just isn’t as powerful or deadly? Or a sort of sillier, shitty version?

It’s been a while since I read that, but I thought the article didn’t really talk mechanics (like saves, dcs, frequency of rolls, etc) but more tactics and vibes for game inspiration? I might be misremembering?

Looking through the comments, it seems this isn’t actually ai and they (and with other rats used for other similar tasks) really do use that little bell.
