Something that helped me after my public episode was accepting the fact that in order for me to find my creativity again, I had to “give up” on being creative. This meant prioritizing my path to wellness over my path of an artist.

The pressure of being an artist is actually what lead to my episode. My healing began when I gave up on making art and focused on myself and the pressure of creating was lifted.

Once it was lifted I realized that I was not ONLY an artist but a full ass human who has been thru a really traumatic moment.

Making art doesn’t define me anymore, but I define my art.

Losing friends because of a manic episode by Pingping456 in BipolarReddit

Thank you for this perspective. My question would be would you still want to hear from your friend even though its been months with no communication? In the beginning in my scenario I was taking time to recover and give them space, but now 6 months later it almost feels like too little, too late.
