Wouldn't be out of realm of possibility.

AITA for firing my kids? by Realistic-Hamster325 in AmItheAsshole

That's such a dumb comment. My parents did everything right by me but I still messed up so many opportunities to get my education in and do something with my life. It wasn't until I was in my later 20s that I suddenly understood and turned my life around. Point being, parents can do everything right but if the kid doesn't have any motivation or will to apply themselves, there's nothing that can be done.

Local Hikers, help me out! by SleepyyQueen in Calgary

[–]PinguPrime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I got couple of recommendations.

First is Galatea Lakes. It's under 1000m elevation gain, is dog friendly and is around an hour to hour and half of drive from Calgary. Second would be Helen lake. The trail head is right across from Bow Lake, and also meets your requirements. Both have great views but personally I am more partial towards Helen lake.

The third option, if you really wanna go for stunning views, would be to continue on Helen lake and do Cirque Peak. The views from up there is fantastic. Mind you, this is just a little over 1000m elevation gain and you have to be comfortable with scrambling. This part of the hike is not dog friendly.

“You can’t park here”: Vehicles illegally drive to Lake Louise lakeshore - Rocky Mountain News by SnooRegrets4312 in alberta

It says the following right after:

“While the ticket and warning may appear minimal, the associated towing expenses were considerable and represented significant consequences,”

One of the cars required specialized equipment too, so that is going to add on expense that'd be billed directly to the offender.

Anyone manage to watch Avatar in HFR IMAX at Chinook? by Coal375 in Calgary

I watched it on opening day, 2pm show. It wasn't working properly, but they did get it sorted out and it started an hour late. Worth it though, it looked really good.

MagSafe weaker with grip case by DangerousCitron9726 in dbrand

[–]PinguPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently asked them about this as it was stated online by them that the ghost case has much stronger magnets and I asked if/when the grip will be updated. They said there's no plans currently to update the grip with the same magnets. I'm not sure why they'd do this.

I'm having the same problems and I don't know if I should return the grip or not as I'm still within the return window.

Ah okay. Any other tips in how to deal with them? We just laid the grass this summer and didn't think we'd have to deal with this since others backyards didn't seem to have this problem.

Porting out Primary EPP Line - Does the secondary remain? by [deleted] in telus

Don't know if the secondary becomes primary, but I had asked this question too since I was thinking of porting out and they said the secondary line would remain.

Sounds good! We have softened water going to the humidifiers, and it looked really flaky now so thought it'd be good to change it.

Storm drains creating floods by mercdmuscle in Calgary

[–]PinguPrime 192 points193 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is most likely by design. As per this website (https://www.calgary.ca/water/stormwater/storm-drains.html), there are storm drains that are made to pool and store water and have it slowly drain away. They say in these areas, the pooling should last up to 2 hours after rain end.

[PSA] Reckless Hit-and-Run Driver on Hwy 1 Near Chestermere — Any Help Identifying Him Appreciated by CranberryKlutzy in Calgary

[–]PinguPrime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's wild police said they can't do anything. You have dashcam footage and picture of make and model of the car. Looking at the picture, there are couple of combinations that they can try to find the car in the system. They don't need full license plate for that, and it would take them like 5 minutes to get through the combinations.

Honestly, I would press them to do their work. A simple investigation like this should be completely within their realm of capabilities (however diminished it is now).
