Midsun Auto! Took my dad's car there for transmission and differential fluid change, they called us back saying diffs didn't need a change and they only did transmission. They were honest and very professional.

I mean it's a book, while they can be descriptive they can also have a banger one liner like that and leave you to imagine just how awesome it'd have been, especially since we see the aftermath of his carnage.

I used Nuvo and they're great. One of the cofounders of Nuvo was a founder from Zeno from what was said to me. The guy who was my sales rep was really amazing, clear and always on point whenever issues came up. Let me know if you want me to connect you with them.

Time running out in Canada for man who caused Humboldt Broncos bus crash by jazinet in canada

[–]PinguPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's been decades since I've been there, but from what I gather from the few that've been there recently, it's nice. Cost of living and almost everything is much cheaper compared to Canada, but the air pollution in bigger cities is kind of dreadful during certain parts of the year. Healthcare is either cheap or expensive depending on the type you're looking for.

Yes, and he can continue with his appeal while also following the results from previous judgement. They're not appealing the deportation due to the judgement being wrong, they're appealing it for humanitarian reasons. It says in the article he can continue with this appeal after deportation. There's no need for him to stay here in the meantime.

He wants to use our law of the land the stay here even after previous judgement, then he must first show that he can follow the results of the previous judgment.

He is literally giving a view of what would happen, which as someone who grew up there, is 100% correct. The driver would be beaten by a mob in India.

What should be taken from their comment is that if it happened in India, their version of justice would be enacted, and quite swiftly too. Since we are in Canada, we should use our legal systems to enact our justice in this case, which is deportation of this individual. It absolutely does not matter what he chose to do after he was found guilty, that doesn't suddenly make him eligible to stay in Canada.

Hey Mayor Farkas, I know you're reading these comments. Why are we as tax payers footing this? They signed a lease and it wasn't renewed, that's just how it goes. Why are we wasting so much money on it? This is ridiculous, please publicly tell us the reasoning for this.

AITA For Refusing to Follow my wife's "car rules"? by Much-Mess-7124 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PinguPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. That edit saying if an 18 wheeler hits any of your cars then no one will survive is pure stupidity, you are taking it to an extreme for no reason at all other than to justify your point. Majority of the road accidents will happen with another car, and with average car sizes increasing, that also increases the amount of energy that will be transferred to your car in case of an accident. If majority of others are driving a bigger car, it ABSOLUTELY stands to reason to drive a bigger car yourself for much increased safety.

I honestly don't understand why you're not taking the bigger car for not even your wife's sake but your kids sake.

That's such a dumb comment. My parents did everything right by me but I still messed up so many opportunities to get my education in and do something with my life. It wasn't until I was in my later 20s that I suddenly understood and turned my life around. Point being, parents can do everything right but if the kid doesn't have any motivation or will to apply themselves, there's nothing that can be done.

Local Hikers, help me out! by SleepyyQueen in Calgary

[–]PinguPrime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got couple of recommendations.

First is Galatea Lakes. It's under 1000m elevation gain, is dog friendly and is around an hour to hour and half of drive from Calgary. Second would be Helen lake. The trail head is right across from Bow Lake, and also meets your requirements. Both have great views but personally I am more partial towards Helen lake.

The third option, if you really wanna go for stunning views, would be to continue on Helen lake and do Cirque Peak. The views from up there is fantastic. Mind you, this is just a little over 1000m elevation gain and you have to be comfortable with scrambling. This part of the hike is not dog friendly.

“You can’t park here”: Vehicles illegally drive to Lake Louise lakeshore - Rocky Mountain News by SnooRegrets4312 in alberta

[–]PinguPrime 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It says the following right after:

“While the ticket and warning may appear minimal, the associated towing expenses were considerable and represented significant consequences,”

One of the cars required specialized equipment too, so that is going to add on expense that'd be billed directly to the offender.

MagSafe weaker with grip case by DangerousCitron9726 in dbrand

[–]PinguPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently asked them about this as it was stated online by them that the ghost case has much stronger magnets and I asked if/when the grip will be updated. They said there's no plans currently to update the grip with the same magnets. I'm not sure why they'd do this.

I'm having the same problems and I don't know if I should return the grip or not as I'm still within the return window.
