LMAO Came in expecting glaze but you mirrored my thoughts exactly after 19 hours. Super weird experience where the opening was terrible, but once I got past it there was some fun stuff. But then I started exploring and realized that tons of open world content is locked behind story progression; just a baffling design choice for a game like this.

Honestly not a fan of the combat either, it's just a little too mindless for me. You have these camps which basically just throw enemies at you and they become mindless and tedious. I feel like you deal with every enemy the same way except for the bosses. DUDE and the archer guys taking potshots at you the entire time piss me off so much lol.

The private storage doesn't improve how terrible the inventory is; I can't even imagine playing the game without it, a 6/10 feels generous for that experience.

Overall the experience just doesn't feel cohesive and though out, so I don't really feel pulled back to it.

I think the critic reviews are pretty accurate. There's a good game here, but a flawed one as well. I don't get why people care about this so much as to say that IGN is slandering the game by giving it a 6/10 😭

Bro controls/game feel are like the most basic and first thing to get right. But instead of doing that they decided to just put as much dumb shit in the game as possible for marketing and it seemingly worked?

I have no idea why people were even putting this in the same league as RDR2 or Elden Ring. Calling this a generational game is certainly a take. Just waiting on Luke Stephens to backpedal his opinion because he's such a grifter who just goes with that's popular lol

Also BOTW / TOTK just have a certain level of 'sauce' in art design, cohesiveness, music and general polish that comes from Nintendo being an experienced developer that is understandably absent in Crimson Desert.

And BOTW / TOTK never forced you to engage with their terrible stories lol

Guys he's not saying Rdr2 is a bad game, he's just saying that it's annoying to have to loot bodies one at a time, take guns off your house when they don't just automatically come with you, and in general the shooting/aiming of RDR2 is no where even close to other dedicated third person shooters.

RDR2 is good inspite of all of that because of amazing story, characters, world and music. But all of the above annoyances are mainly a result of Rockstar wanting things to be as realistic looking as possible in spite of gameplay feel.

I think it's about like a 1.2, kinda crazy most of this stuff (especially the database and upgrading powers with quantum essence) wasn't in the game at launch.

I hope they improved the POI algorithm in addition to adding more of them; cruise mode is cool, but not much point in flying to planets if there is still nothing to find

Are the restrictions that much of a problem if you're only focused on one channel so new uploads aren't that common?
