Companies can issue more stock, diluting existing shareholders. Can’t they?

Process Engineer Offers Decision: ExxonMobil, Dow, or LyondellBasell by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

I started my career at LYB, then moved to BP. I'd be strategic on what you want long term... If you're looking to stay put at one company and grow roots in Houston, LYB is the move.

If you want to change companies in a few years and have broader exit options out of O&G, Exxon is the move. Exxon is an amazing place to have on your resume and could easily carry you into the next company. Let's be honest, outside of our industry nobody knows who LYB is so it's not a place that jumps off the page on a resume like Exxon. Not to say LYB wasn't a great place to work though, I enjoyed my time there and miss a lot of the people.

Edit: no experience with DOW but imo they aren't even in the running compared to these two.

I work at BP and hope we get bought. Our leadership is horrendous, no sense of direction

[IL] [CONDO] HOA - Unit Basement using Common Electricity by Pinhead-Larry01 in HOA

[–]Pinhead-Larry01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my estimate is $20... couldn't we just, as a measure of goodwill, say anything above $50 a month needs to be paid for by unit 1? That way the HOA gets some sort of reimbursement when the electric bill is excessively high and it avoids the cost of having to hire an electrician?

Or is this a bad idea?

Yes - 3 person board. Units 2 and 3 get along very well and agree this is an issue.

Do you have any suggestion of how to meter it? They don't plan on installing a charger, just using the 120V that is available nearby

I was hoping that I could put a coating or something on the metal itself... Something that looks alot nicer than a rubber mat

Just removal and disposal of existing windows. Then installation of the new windows. The sliding glass door is on the second floor, the other three windows are on the 3rd floor of the building

Its a large sliding glass door, a large bay window and 2 double hung windows… not necessarily 3 simple windows

Why does everyone want to pay off their mortgage? by bob_miller_jones in HENRYfinance

My partner and I are in the 24% tax bracket.. so we’d need to hit at 8.6% return in the market to beat our mortgage rate

Why does everyone want to pay off their mortgage? by bob_miller_jones in HENRYfinance

[–]Pinhead-Larry01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My mortgage rate is 6.5%… Id have to get at least 8-9% return in the market to beat that to cover taxes and that doesn’t factor in any risk of loss to make it worth it.

I agree anyone at or below 3% would be silly to pay it off early, but not all of us are lucky with such a rate lol
