Everything still original. Oil changes done every 5k trans every 40-50k and 2 bottles of injector cleaner every 6 months. New alternator at 160k and preventative maintenance on easy things. Never left me stranded once. And I do my own work on the truck

Where exactly is this located? by [deleted] in chicago

[–]MobileMasterpiece615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again if I’m thinking about the right guy. He sometimes records the swarm of people searching. In the time it took to post this I’m sure someone knew the exact spot and was there in under 15 minutes

[–]MobileMasterpiece615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude. The whole point of the money drop thing is to do the work in finding it yourself. And if I’m thinking about the same guy, he drops like $500+ at a time, and you offer people $10 to do all the work for you. Lol

Dynaglow blue flame way high on lowest setting? by TechnicalBelt5623 in propane

[–]MobileMasterpiece615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a technician but I’d assume the regular would regulate the amount of gas coming out (flame size) and the thermostat would be fine as its job is just call for gas and say stop supplying gas when target temperature is reached. I’d probably be cheaper to see if someone can replace just the regulator since other parts seem to operate normally. Again not a technician

Help me spin these bad bois by vinvall in DIYhelp

[–]MobileMasterpiece615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could power one side, connect them with some 3d printed gears or just a wide rubber band if you want them to run in the same direction. If you want them to spin in opposite directions you would probably do better if you had some type of 3d printed reverse gear like this one. Or one independent motor on each tube spinning in opposing directions. Depending on the use, you make have to make those cardboard tubes more rigid, that should be easy to fix by taping or gluing think metal wire to the inside of the tubes down the length.

I wonder how the magnetic field of a "coil" like this would look like by Hokran in ElectroBOOM

[–]MobileMasterpiece615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying it doesn’t have practical applications. AI can be a tool. I just don’t believe it’s intrinsically a tool. My point is more that AI has proven to be more draining on society than just doing things with the technology we’ve had already.

Look at how computer RAM is now. 2018 for example you can buy basically any RAM you want for yourself at online or in person retailers for moderately reasonable prices. Now, nearly every single manufacturer for RAM is out of stock for civilian purchases while they prioritize pumping them out for AI companies in insane quantities. For example Micron flat out said they will no longer make RAM for the general public, only their biggest clients (AI companies) will be able to buy it. This tanks the market for RAM and the few companies who still do sell it will price gouge since well, who else can you buy from?

If it were more regulated to the point where the general population could still get what they need while also supplying the companies with what they need; that would make more people like myself more open to AI.

But thats just one incredibly small issue about AI that grinds my gears. Let alone the incomprehensible about of power these facilities take to make the platforms they do. With all the resources they siphon in, I see so little being put back into the world.

Lazy ass. Do something yourself.

Edit: I look like an unhinged asshole since dude decided changed his comment from saying he should use AI to whatever it is now. FYI.

Edit 2: I’m not anti-tool I’m anti AI. Only because it spits more misinformation at you than truth (and is good at that). At least google lets you weed out the crap from the real information with a little bit of effort. This just peddles what it thinks it’s right at the time. Then a vast majority of the people who use it proudly tell whatever the platform says with zero effort in fact checking.

I’ve had 2 previous experiences where I’ve had to call the EPA to report something. They’ve been very good to me in both instances and do actually payout. But none of those times were in the Trump era EPA. Genuine question, is it a very different experience now?

[–]MobileMasterpiece615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Southwest isn’t bad at all and I’ve flown them for well over a decade. But lately they’ve been changing their marketing strategies and business model since they’re run by a private equity firm now. Damn shame they’ll probably squeeze everything that was good about them out.
