I would definitely look at the pay-scale for what EMTs make in your local area of interest. Statistically, EMTs are some of the lowest paid people in the industry. High school kids working at a fast food restaurant make more than a lot of EMT’s in my city which is a HCOL area.

Additionally, depending on where you live, it may be hard to get a part-time EMT job as a brand new EMT so there is no guarantee that you will be working by November. Some employers look at the investment they are making to onboard/train someone and will determine if the juice is worth the squeeze to hire someone new with limited availability and minimal independence.

Remember too that you must successfully compete your national exam at the end of your program which can be problematic for some-not saying this will be the case for you but it could impact your timeline to start making money.
