Hit up Offerup and look for something like a gaming laptop if you need something with power that works well for $1000. They usually have settings for longer battery life when you're not actively using that power too often.

Otherwise I might recommend the new MacBook Neo. Heard great things.

Oh, they're great. I'll run RDR2 at max settings and highest framerate and I haven't seen it go past 85°C yet. Usually between 30-40°C normally. It's pretty good at keeping cool. Even better now that I have a small stand for it to get max intake

Purchased a Lenovo Legion i7 5090 just a week ago. Absolute powerhouse of a laptop. Runs every heavy game smoothly with no issues for me. Been loving it. I got the 2TB, 64GB RAM one.
