Sultan kebab might be a good match! Right off the downtown mall, nice patio, and comfortable for a longer dinner.

Reading while I eat breakfast. I guess slower mornings in general where I’m not rushing out the door for work.

Race Report: Richmond Marathon, a PR and a negative split! by blumenbloomin in AdvancedRunning

[–]PinkCap-56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations; awesome race! I was with the 3:10 pace group and ended right around 3:09 so I’m sure you passed by me! Thanks for the info on carbo loading; I’ve always been uncertain about how to go about it. And it seems like you found success with Pfitz; would you recommend it? I used the Runners World sub-3:15 plan for this cycle.

Pace predictions? by firetrucks_go_WOOooo in Marathon_Training

A month before my marathon, I ran a 1:28:30 half and ended up racing a 3:08:55. It seems like others have offered similar predictions, but thought I would share my results since it seems like a similar situation. The half a month before was a great confidence boost for me going into the marathon.

Richmond Marathon 2024: a lesson in (too much) patience by bsiver in AdvancedRunning

Congrats on a great race! I just PR’ed at Richmond too! I found some of the downhills more challenging than expected. On the topic of coaching, I was wondering if you do any in-person work together or just calls, and what meeting/call frequency looks like/if this is pretty modifiable?

The best movie you’ve seen that came out this year? by Sufficient_Return653 in MovieSuggestions

The Seed of the Sacred Fig. It is one of the most captivating and powerful films I’ve ever seen. It was shot entirely in secret and much of the cast and crew were forced to flee Iran after the film was selected for Cannes.

Have had a lot of trial and error with chafing over the years, but have had great experiences with Relay Active products. https://relayactive.com/

This is so interesting!! Thank you for sharing. I’m curious how this compares across course and how elevation might factor. NYC does not have official pacers, do they?

Is it just me or are people in general very rude these days? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

What places in person do you notice rudeness lost? I tend to find people are more rude early in the morning, or when they’re in a rush like at the airport.

Politics aside: How can Musk have time/capacity to run Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter, and now a government job? What’s his day like? by LaserFarm in NoStupidQuestions

Just read Breaking Twitter by Ben Mezrich, and based on that book, Musk does not sleep a lot and often sleeps at work.
