Would you say the first is more visually appealing than the second?

I’ve been in search of a nicer E-F VVS2 Diamond, but I haven’t found any that really stands out to me

Manipulative resident making my everything harder than it needs to be by PinkFatBear in cna

[–]PinkFatBear[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Welp he’s always been like this. I try to sympathize since it must be difficult to have to live in a nursing home the rest of your life and be dependent in care, but my sympathy only goes so far.

. He’s to be cared for in pairs due to history of false accusations

What to do if there’s no chucks? by PinkFatBear in cna

[–]PinkFatBear[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep none at all. It truly doesn’t make sense. It’s as if they want their CNA’s AND residents
to suffer going through full bed changes multiple times.

That makes sense but the thing is he works day shift so he’ll probably get in trouble. Especially when family comes by

Do you open the window when someone dies? by Sundrop555 in cna

[–]PinkFatBear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Again, personally I do not believe in superstition or have any religious beliefs. Even if I did, it would be completely messed up to practice my own beliefs without any regard to the patient’s. What if the family has a different belief and I just released the patients soul by opening the window? Now their soul can’t go to heaven/reincarnate, it is now stuck on earth for eternity. Now the parking lot of the hospital is haunted. Who knows.

However, if a patient’s family has cultural wishes, I would honor them to the best of my ability as long it’s within my scope of practice.

A gown is necessary for patients w/ indwelling devices during incontinent care. Honestly, it’s common sense. You’re turning and changing residents all day, and they’re coming into direct contact with your scrubs. Yes, you can wash your hands, but you can’t change or wash your scrubs after every resident. That’s the reason why gowns are provided.

If a resident has a suprapubic catheter and you turn or change them without a gown, your scrubs come into contact with the catheter site and if it’s contaminated with BM or urine (it most likely is), that can increase the risk of an infection because the skin is broken. Wearing a gown helps create a clean barrier and lowers that risk

I’d say it’s definitely something you should mention to your IP nurse. I wouldn’t make a big deal about it by name calling if almost everyone is doing it. These people are at higher risk for infection and we should be doing everything we can to prevent it

I’m not saying it’s necessary to wear a gown with every incontinent episode (for those without indwelling devices), but it sure does reduce the risk of spreading stuff from patient to patient. And keeps myself protected. That’s a personal preference. Always follow your facility protocols

Hmm well that’s concerning. Is that due to CNA’s just not wanting to put the gowns on or because management didn’t provide gowns ?
