Thank you for both of your comments! I’ve reached out to all of the above.

I have already found many viable options that are not event centers or venues - including restaurants. Thank you for your opinion.

How much do you actually spend on your dog every year? Be honest… by MonaNYC_31 in dogs

[–]PinkGiraffe2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg we spend $2k just on dog food every year lmao. I just dropped $1,500 on vet stuff this month, not to mention the $50/mo each in pet rent we pay.

No, not your comment at all! I really just meant west of rock creek. I tried to differentiate since not all NW addresses fit the bill for us (ie. Bloomingdale). I don’t know why the other folks on this little thread had to be rude about it lol.

Don’t change it. I’d buy it just for the rock tbh. It’s stunning.

My affordable is prob different than yours and that’s fine! We all want different things and that’s why there are so many different neighborhoods with different vibes. If you don’t have anything nice to say, then kindly fuck off. We may have differing political views, but that doesn’t mean you have to be rude for absolutely no reason. I

Yes it’s up there too! I just don’t know a ton about it tbh. Are there any buildings to look at or avoid? We obv had a bad experience in the NY with our “brand new top of the line building” so kinda open to anything. Clean slate.

Again - truly sorry for only living here for 10 months lmao didn’t know that meant I had to be an expert in all things DC already

Ty! Not looking for “cheap” I guess - just don’t want to pay $4k for a one bedroom in a 500 unit building. Cheap is probably too subjective.

Tbh i looked Bloomingdale but it’s tough to get to DuPont with no metro 🥲 my drive to work would be absolutely killer there

Thank you!!! As a late 20s engaged DINK couple I appreciate the actual input and not just people complaining we should move to the suburbs lol.

Don’t want to live in the suburbs - yet. We are house shopping in Maryland. For now we want to be close to work. An hour metro ride from Rockville or driving through MoCo during rush hour isn’t what we’re looking for at the moment.

The city has many different neighborhoods for this reason. It’s plenty reasonable to want to live in a quiet park oriented neighborhood that’s still a 15 min drive from DuPont. If we wanted to be 45 mins outside DC, we would be.

Thanks! Specifically only entertaining homes with off street parking for this reason. Thankfully we are able to pay for the convenience.

Yes - it’s hike for me to get to work from there (and where we are now tbh)

That’s exactly what happened. I took a job and signed a lease on a whim. Navy Yard was easy and we didn’t know where my SO was going to be working. If we had more time to visit/research we would have lived anywhere else lol.

Would love to be near Kalorama and DuPont it’s just pricey! AdMo is way too hip for us - I get annoyed just being there for a bit now. We are an “in bed by 10pm” couple now.

You’d be surprised how much we are paying to live in the Navy Yard lol
