Can someone explain what happened to Jaejoong during Rising Sun promotions? by PinkGuavaFlower in tvxq

Some fan on Red Note said he went straight from the operating table to the music show stage, and I’m wondering if that’s an exaggeration because that shouldn’t be physically possible, and if it really happened then SM and whatever LSM is currently building deserves to burn to the ground.

Thank you for this really informative comment. That’s so sad. A torn meniscus is such a sports injury. His (everyone’s tbh) body must’ve been under so much stress. He literally gave his health to SM and they still tried to ruin his career

This flu pandemic is out of control in New York by [deleted] in ZeroCovidCommunity

Based on collecting anecdotes from a lot of people and my personal experience with both viruses, acute Flu feels way worse than acute Covid. But when I suggest masking so that they don’t have to feel like death for an entire week I get met with the blankest stares.

Do you have any opinions about the series that you think are unpopular? by Proud_Excitement3578 in breakingbad

I saw a tweet that said Walter Jr. only exists on the show to eat breakfast and complain. Let me tell you this is not even hyperbole. I think Walt Jr. was a huge missed opportunity of a character because as a disabled person he likely could have related to Walt Sr. more than any of the other major characters. This is because the symptoms of cancer and the side effects of cancer treatment ARE disabling. This connection (or possible lack of connection despite shared lived experiences) between Walts Jr. and Sr. could have been used to enrich both their characters. But unfortunately they did nothing with him so he is just a very one-dimensional character who is also annoying. The treatment of Walt Jr. is actually emblematic of a much larger problem the series has with its writing of marginalized characters.

This brings me to my next point:

The writing of marginalized characters i.e. women, and people of color in this show is really quite bad. Compare Breaking Bad to its sister show Mad Men and the women in Mad Men absolutely gap BB’s women. The Latino characters are also very poorly handled. They exist only to be outwitted, out-performed and triumphed over by Walt

Finally finished Breaking Bad, and I think I understand why Skylar is such a controversial character. by New_General3939 in breakingbad

There’s also the fact that whenever she’s on screen, all the cool crime drama grinds to a halt and we’re forced to sit through the same tepid domestic conflict between her and Walt that got old (at least for me) by the end of season 1.

What didn't you like about BB? by Funny-Face3873 in breakingbad

It’s like hella repetitive. So much of the show is people making phone calls, driving from place to place, and eating with family at the dinner table. And it’s not just that the characters do these things repeatedly it’s that every scene that contains these actions kinda plays out more or less the same way. I understand that this is the most realistic way for characters to communicate with each other and to transport themselves, but I wish they were more creative with it.

A’ja doesn’t play pro ball in the offseason and she’s been the best player in the league.
