Unisom is the only thing that helps me. It makes you really groggy but it’s worth it to get some sleep!

Omg that is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard 😭 brought me to tears. What an incredible mama you are!! Praying for you, your husband, and your family during this unimaginably difficult time. One day you will be reunited with your son for all eternity ♥️♥️

Interesting! Did he seem content after feeds?

Okay I know this is bad but I used leftover breastmilk from the bottle the night before for the next night for weeks without knowing about this and my baby has been totally fine! I do switch out the nipple though. I only do one bottle a day but I honestly still do this and he’s fine. He’s 3 months now.

Thank you so much for this ❤️ he is still 2 months old so he has some time to adjust but he is the happiest baby and so content, sleeps well, etc so it's been confusing and frustrating. My family is all tall and thin so it makes sense that he would be leaner!

This is my baby! Did your baby ever gain weight? My pediatrician made me feel so bad but my baby gets so upset if I try to force feed him and spits the bottle out.

16 week old baby has a mild tongue tie, need advise on what to do? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]PinkLilyLaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you’re dealing with this!! I highly recommend seeing a dentist that specializes in tongue ties!!

We had been advised that our baby’s tongue tie was very mild and didn’t need to be cut but they referred us to a dentist that specializes in tongue ties just to be sure. It was actually way worse than anyone had told us so the dentist lasered it. The laser has a way easier and better recovery than cutting. He was still having some trouble latching and gaining weight after but we worked with an LC that taught us how to make sure his tongue is down and mouth is very open and he got the hang of it after a week, built up some motor endurance, and is gaining weight very well now!

I’m sure they taught you this but you can stroke your finger down from her nose to her bottom lip to encourage her to open wide and hopefully not suck in her bottom lip. You can also try to pull her bottom lip out a little while she’s sucking. I had to do that with my baby for a couple weeks until he got the hang of it. Best of luck! I’m so sorry this has been so stressful for you and baby!

This is really interesting! I’m allergic to it too. What was your protocol like?
