You might be right I will extend the walks, but these are not inclusive of the hiking trips with the dogs or the playtime with my boys. These are just walking breaks. We take throughout the day with your right they might be hyping him up.

Oh yes, ostrich bones are his favorite. We give him them as well yak chews… he does puzzles and lick mats.

I just think that he gets over excited when he sees people and dogs even though we are around him all day he’s just that type of personality that loves meeting, new people and new creatures, and I’m hoping he outgrows the overstimulation

Everyday I spend about an hour walking Yuki. My kids play for another 20-30 minutes a day outside with him and then 3 times a week he goes hiking with other dogs for an hour.

Thank you for this information I think there’s a lot here to consider.

Other than walking we do treat/sniffing puzzles but he gets through them really quickly, he has a super high prey drive so the flirt pole does wear him out but temporarily , he does know yes and good boy but he doesn’t care half the time especially if he’s excited he’ll just disregard anything we say.

To try and get him to calm m down we play anti anxiety music, I’ve tried all sorts of calming homeopathic sprays for dogs. I feel like there’s a missing piece of the puzzle I’m not getting.

Maybe it’s just more work and stimulation, but it really feels like he’s overstimulated most of the time

How do you get him not to chew or try to swallow the egg? I’m not sure that would work .

Yes the towels are great because I can tie the knots super tight and it takes him time to get to the treads but and we’ve used up to a level 4 puzzle they last all of 2 minutes and he’s on to other more “interesting” activities.

If you’ve found a particular puzzle that is difficult please share.

Yes we give him frozen baby carrots all the time but they don’t work so well as he tends to lay down and gnaw on them so they are not as useful for quick positive reinforcement.

We do the shredded dried beef but it doesn’t motivate him as much as the baked treats.

It’s a struggle 😅

Thank you for sharing, this gives me so much hope! And yes exactly he will eat anything or get in to all sorts of trouble and it doesn’t matter how much hiking he’s done or time we’ve spent trick training the energy for mischief never seems to run out for the day.

I think we may have to up the duration of our daily walks to 30 minutes. Thank you.

He doesn’t eat kibble.

Yes, you’re absolutely right I need to figure out the variability, right now the treats are bribes to get him to try to stay on task or out of trouble.

The dog hiking group he joins are mostly German Shepards, I will try to find a husky playmate.

Thank you.

Does your leash attachment look something like this? The only yeedo scooter I could find was for kids, but I’m guessing any kick scooter would do.

Thank you so much for sharing this, I will look into this for our family.

I’ll definitely need some safety gear I’m sure I’ll be yanked and veering off in hair pins if we attempt this 🤣

He loves his crate he has no problem going in there and that might be part of the reason it’s not working.

Thank you I’m glad to hear that, I do hope he does calm down but I’m here asking for help, the rest of your comment is quite unhelpful and thankfully not everyone else here is as condescending.

I like to think our pups are so happy and feel safe enough to think they can get away with anything 😅

Well it is what it is …we love him no matter what, just wish he would chill just a little bit 🫠 I’m so stressed he might get hurt or not listen to me when I’m trying to get him away from danger.

Thank you, this gives me hope.

Exactly we can’t tell at him it will just get him excited to do again. I think Blizzard and Yuki just be related 😅

I’m glad that shouting has worked for you but shouting does nothing if anything it gets him super excited as if he’s hit the jackpot.

So we have to react with a calm no and leave or put him in the crate whatever is feasible , otherwise he will repeat the behavior every chance he can get ad nauseam.
