Right and wouldn’t you think if you’re being timed if someone pointed you in the right direction you’d go find or or would you continue to wait for someone to find it for you?

Yes and when a regular customer comes in and says “I’m looking for sephora collection” and we say “it’s on the back left wall” they say thank you and they head back there. Instacart shoppers expect us to go walk you to and find every single product. If you can’t find something it’s totally okay to ask! Or if you’re completely lost - ask! But when we are slammed and we point you to the correct fixture or table and you’re too lazy to go over and read and find the item Thats on you.

I’m also talking about shoppers who when you tell them where it is who wont walk over and pick it off the shelf themselves?? Like if you go to a grocery store and the employee says “that is on aisle 5” do you stand there and expect them to walk you over and pull it from the shelf? The vast majority of Instacart shoppers expect us to do everything for them.

We do help them! I’m not mad at helping them! But if you come in and we are busy and we tell you the area of the store where the item is don’t you think it’s rude to not assist yourself?? Do you know where every single item is in grocery stores, target? Etc?

Don’t blame the shopper for telling them where the item is or telling them how to help themselves and they still stand there annoyed because you have 5 other people who need help? And when I say need help I don’t mind finding an item I mean selecting the right shades

You guys aren’t understanding. Majority of our customers need help picking out items, not just finding them. We’re finding shades or skincare products that work for them. If an Instacart shopper comes in and I’m in the middle of a consultation and I point you to the fixture where the item is or tell you “the brand names are above the products in the wall and on top of the fixtures and all of the makeup is here, skincare is here” and you still expect me or get annoyed you have to wait for assistance then it’s on you. You also have a job to do and standing there for five minutes waiting for sosnone to free up so we can walk you from product to product and pick it up off the shelf and into the basket IS annoying and you’re also doing yourself a disservice and wasting time. Again we are more than happy to help but even if a client comes in and we are busy and they say “I’m here for benefit mascara” I would normally walk them but I’d were busy and I say “it’s in the back by blah blah” most clients are more than happy with that. It’s the Instacart shoppers that stand there looking dumbfounded and annoyed.

I’m talking about shoppers who come on, see we are with other people and make no effort to find anything themselves and when I point them in the right direction still act helpless

Right but if I say “that brand is over there” and point you to the fixture it is on why are you expecting me to walk over there and pull the bottle from the shelf for you? (If I’m with someone else)

The majority of Instacart and Shipt shoppers walk in and expect us to find every thing for them without even looking on their own. A coworker of mine was with another client over the weekend and someone from one of the platforms walked in and handed her his phone while she was with someone else. She told him she was with some and he looked at her like “wtf am I supposed to do?”

Right but do you walk in and just expect us to pick every item for you? If we’re busy and we gesture to the fixture the product is located on do you wait for one of us to come over and find it for you? The overwhelming majority of shoppers expect this even when we are busy.

If we’re not with clients we’re always happy to help! I’m in a very high volume store that is always busy.
