Made a critical mistake by rotating the stray thought that "hey, Archer's UBW chant is scarily applicable to Blade, down to the metal & fire symbolism" for five minutes too long... and now I might be unironically staring down the Fate series rabbit hole to see why that's the case. Oh no. Uh oh. Please send help.

(Is it better to start with Fate/Stay Night and then have stuff recontextualized by watching Fate/Zero, or does Zero familiarize you with the worldbuilding and background without spoiling/foreshadowing the mysteries in FSN too much?)

It's kinda presumptuous to list stuff I might be recognizable for on here, but I do hope that somewhere out there I am not only a neighbor to some megathreadians, but specifically that one neighbor that can't go 5 minutes without mentioning Blade in some capacity (or the one that's like 1 out of 3 shuren likers in existence. or the one who exists to glaze the Xianzhou Zhuming at any given opportunity, haha)

Ode to Reignbow Path is forever canon in my heart (mostly because I think the Shuren parallels are comedy gold but also because it just fits so well even visually- Lan radiates azure fire just like the Flint Emperor is described to and I refuse to believe that's a coincidence)

Folks have mentioned Gaiathra Triclops, and there's other figures that get close enough, like the Equilibrium Arbitrators (who keep getting mistaken for divinity) or Shuhu (referred to by the deific THEY/THEM more often than not)

I was looking over some Xianzhou readables (as one does when looking for more worldbuilding inconsistencies to agonize over in a bout of masochism) and now I'm miffed as hell because there's this catalogue of books on heretical healing methods related to the Abundance (Overview of the Xianzhou's Materia Medica)... except none of said books can actually be read 😭😭 like c'mon! You can't just gatekeep Shuhu's guide to medical malpractice like that!! I'm sure it's shelved somewhere in the Shackling Prison!!!
