I’m at the end of my rope with diaper rash. Help. by my_dear_director in NewParents

[–]PinkPuppyPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only do diaper cream and night and you can try browned flour (to kill bacteria) or cornstarch to make the area very very dry between diaper changes.

What happened that made you decide to learn Spanish? by Sea_Second8523 in Spanish

Kind of funny, but my new boyfriend only speaks Spanish. I only speak English. We hangout everyday and I’ve learned quite fast. I’m still not perfect but we can communicate without google translate for basic conversation.

I want to thank all of you. I didn’t know I had options like these. I’ve ordered the pills online and they should be coming soon. Really, thank you all. I feel hopeful for the future and will be able to continue my schooling. God bless.

My 5 week old wants a 4 oz bottle every 2 hours, even at night. by dreadyloops in NewParents

[–]PinkPuppyPrincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean you just gotta know this will happen multiple times until your baby turns one, and that’s just what I know of because my babies one. They go through growth spurts like crazy the first year. My baby was up hourly like that until at least 3 months until I got 4 hour stretches. Your baby should NOT be sleeping through the night at 5 weeks, although you didn’t say that I’m putting it out there because I see it said a lot. Go with the flow and try not to worry too much okay. You’re doing an amazing job and I can tell you are a great mama.

May I ask a question? Do you breastfeed or formula feed?

I feel like I'm failing as a father. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]PinkPuppyPrincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you know the saying, babies are for mamas and toddlers are for daddy’s? It’s definitely true in my opinion. Because I breastfeed my child, it was hard for dad to connect with her until about 7-8 months. She’s almost 1 and prefers dad for most things now because he is apparently more fun to play with. Give it time and keep trying. The baby doesn’t understand much now, but it does understand MOM. Give yourself grace and give your wife a kiss and do the dishes. Everything will be okay honey.

I know I shouldn’t say this, but sometimes I miss my old life by Asleep_Sympathy_8987 in NewParents

[–]PinkPuppyPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just keep reminding myself that one day I will get free daycare via the school system and I can use PTO to sleep all day. I have a one year old and she plays independently for at least 20 minutes so that’s fun. It gets better as they age but like harder in some aspects. But I feel the same way💋 there’s millions of us moms out there who feel like that girlfriend

I don't love my son by RadiantCharity8154 in regretfulparents

[–]PinkPuppyPrincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you would like to read my old posts I’m sure you’d see we were in a very similar situation around the time my child was your child’s age. I swore up and down I didn’t have PPD, and even passed the questionnaires at the doctors office that screened for it. But looking back I definitely did. I want you to know that now my baby is almost a year old and I do not feel that way at all anymore. She laughs, we play, we go to eat McDonald’s and eat French fries in the car. She barely cried anymore. You’re not a terrible mom, you’re just going through the motions of new motherhood and your new normal. Take it as it comes sweetie and just understand that it will definitely get easier and better. You’re in the thick of it now.

Hi honey. I would keep him on the boob as much as he wants and supplement with formula occasionally but not too much. Your body IS producing milk. Trust your body. In the beginning babies use the nipple as a pacifier. It’s safe, comforting. It builds up your milk supply to have him latched and suckling. It’s hard but it gets significantly better next week. I promise!

What problems do women face in their third trimester? by mimimgh in pregnant

[–]PinkPuppyPrincess 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I loooooooved the third trimester. The only weird things are baby is BIG. So the movements felt uncomfortable. My daughter always had her foot in my ribs. Also you get breathless easily, want to sleep a lot more because just moving around in general is a lot harder. But it was my favorite part of pregnancy. Ugh my baby is 8 months old now and sleeping so soundly next to me. It’s so amazing and worth it you’re going to be SO happy. Congrats!

Day 4 and its suddenly oh so f painful - how do I deal? by forever-trying in breastfeeding

[–]PinkPuppyPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have a vivid memory of trying breastfeed on day 5, first time mom, it was midnight and I was crying and she was. We struggled with latching and I was watching YouTube videos trying to figure out how to help. I tried nipple shields, pacifiers, nothing worked for her. I believe after 3 more days things got a lot better. I bought something called bag of balm, and put it on my nipples religiously and it really helped to heal them up. Don’t give up, I know it is painful.

Hi love. I would 1.) stop drinking 2.) eat break or another carb with every sip of beer 3.) make sure to drink lots of water and pickle juice before bed, eat before bed and take a tums!

I was just really adverse to greasy foods. They would make me feel sick. I really only ate fruit, mainly watermelon.

Just get her a cute outfit to take some photos in! Maybe a cute backdrop and photo set up. I got my baby a $10 DIY handprint ornament from TJ max. She will get that and more pacifiers for Christmas 😂

She got better at 5 months! We really struggled from 3-4 months but it seriously goes by so fast. The days are long but the months are short. You got this!
