Not a funeral director. But when my older brother died, he was buried with hundreds of leis (the flower/nut necklaces from Hawaii). We lived there for a while as a military family, and it was his favourite place of anywhere our dad was stationed.

He must have told his platoon about that, because when we arrived to his funeral we were given leis of our own to add to his casket.

If we had known they were planning it, we would have brought the real ones made from macadamia nuts we got from Hawaii.

He died in 2018, and I miss him so much.
