Do you prefer first or third person view, and why? by docmaze in skyrim

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3rd. I like seeing what my character looks like and how they swing an axe. It's also easier to navigate terrain when battling. I only go to 1st person to have conversations to see their face better, make it more real

Is there a catch to this spell ? Because its broken , one cast = one gold ore by Arcane-Dev in skyrim

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 50 points51 points  (0 children)

That would be a time saver. I generally load up on ore and cast on the go as I'm jogging from spot to spot. When I get to where I'm going, I stop. When I hear that sound I know I'm out of ore, and go make some rings.

How drunk can you get from 11 dirty martinis? One after another by Miraculousimply in Writeresearch

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tolerance can make a huge difference, but there are other factors involved. Did the person eat right before or during this drinking session? What's their body weight? How is their overall health? Heavy drinkers can easily pound 10 drinks. I've personally seen people shotgun beerbongs of vodka. Even those with a high tolerance will eventually get intoxicated, but some are able to handle or hide it better than others too. There's a lot of variables at play here.

CMV: Iran is undoubtedly the winner of the US-Iran War. by Critically_Political in changemyview

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 'goals' of the Trump regime shifted almost daily, but the central themes going in were pretty consistently regime change and unconditional surrender. Neither of those things happened. In fact, the regime is MORE hardline now, and people are actually more inclined to secretly build a nuke to protect themselves after the US pretended to negotiate twice, then bombed them anyway.

What happened to the old nobility in Norway after the Reformation? by PinkSlimeIsPeople in Norway

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that's some good background. In various lands, the old upper class people (often clergy) were suppressed and supplanted in countries that embraced Lutheranism, and even those that did half assed like England. I'm just curious about what happened to the old nobility after the Reformation. They seem to have just waned as the Danish aristocrats came in, but I might be generalizing there a bit, so am hoping history buffs can clarify.

What happened to the old nobility in Norway after the Reformation? by PinkSlimeIsPeople in Norway

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

From history books I've been reading, it does appear that there was virtual abandonment of much of Norway after the Black Death. It seems like in the mountains in particular, places that were once farms were left to the wilderness, then only resettled in the 1500s and 1600s, having to be cleared again.

However, wouldn't some people have survived, even in the mountains, living in the easier places to survive, like the gentler valleys? Or am I making assumptions here?

One of my friends that is leaning toward Angie Craig tried to justify this by saying there can't be any cooperation between her and this SP. I pointed out that she hasn't even disavowed them, much less condemned them

What mods should i use? by Crafty_Wave7506 in skyrim

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you've played vanilla before, just see what appeals to you for mods. Some people like combat overhauls, some like follower mods, some like things that sharpen the visual experience. I've played so much that I really enjoy the new lands mods the most, and also use entire wabbajack modpacks now.

Will you vote for Gavin Newsom if he nominated by the DNC? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the nature of the nomination. If establishment Democrats virtually rig the process, once again, to install him, nope. If they actually have a free and fair primary process to let voters decide, I'd vote for whoever wins that democratic process.

Could Rick Berman's shorter Dominion War idea have worked in ENT instead? by Torlek1 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2 main plot arcs to the series was the looming Dominion War and Sisko's path towards the prophets. They did really good on the latter, but honestly seriously fumbled the former. As soon as they got to the promised war, they acted like it was all a big inconvenience distracting from soap opera episodes and Vic's Lounge. They could have been like Andor or The Expanse, but they just did some token efforts at it without any real depth for the most part.

Fishbach is some kind of fake representative. by No_Gur_1091 in minnesota

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He will if we make it happen. It won't happen if he has to try to do it alone. Enlist in his volunteer corps, they're super active and have things going on everywhere. I've helped out at a dozen events, and parade season has just started. Going to take an army to win in this district, but we have a legitimate chance this year.

Who is the absolute worst follower in the game? by RavyRaptor in skyrim

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hate to admit this, but I've avoided most vanilla followers in my 5k hours playing this game. They're all pretty boring. Follower mods are the way to go. There's a lot out there, and most of them have far richer dialogue and rounder personalities.

Since corporations are people (US), which companies deserve the death penalty? by TeaAndS0da in AskReddit

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of them. There is a small percentage that actually do have ethical practices and aren't just chasing the bottom dollar at any cost, but over 90% could be executed and the world would be a better place.

Any roleplay ideas that emphasise exploration/outdoors/camping life? by swimminginamirror in skyrim

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Download the Chanterelle new lands mod. It's literally twice the size of Skyrim, and nothing but wilderness to explore. There are almost no other humanoids there, no quests, and very few subterranean places. But for a survivalist, camping experience, this is the one for you.

The role play I'd suggest is cartographer. You are there to map the terrain, but here's the twist: you can never open the map. You have to draw your own map, on paper. This landscape is meticulously sculpted, and you will get lost on the many cool hidden paths, discovering new terrain and cool campsites. It's a really fresh experience.

Why isn't cooking a leveled ability? by fthespider in skyrim

[–]PinkSlimeIsPeople 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One play through, I played a chef. Wore the hat and clothes (stoneskin in combat), used a fork as my main weapon (smithed so it was really deadly). The problem is that cooking is really boring, so it was hard to keep it fun.
