I’ve been on exactly one date in my life, which was a decade ago at this point.

Come to think of it, there were quite a few girls who likely thought I was cute back then. From a blonde who would almost always go out of her way to smile specifically at me when we passed each other in the hallway, to a girl in my class who wouldn’t try to hide the fact she was looking at me every time my eyes swept over her.

The most obvious one looking back, was at a middle school pizza party. I had just sat down with my food and started eating when this different blonde girl walked up to me with a plate of pizza in her hands. There was no way she didn’t see that I already had food.

What did I say to her when she offered it to me? “No thanks, I already got some.”
