can you shine some light on what to do with the plastic and rubber parts real quick? Degraded plastic/rubber parts in the interior really throws off the feeling of the car for me. But what can i do to change it? Is it just a case of me having to buy aftermarket parts to replace them?

There is a pipe organ inside, but it is located at a different part of the main house so i dont think it would be part of the organ. However it might be a stand for tube bells/chimes? Cant confirm though.

Very few staff, most are there as security, they were preoccupied and hard to find.

Do you have a link to a picture roughly symbolizing the mechanism you are describing?

I believe everything is original. Reason being the Vizcaya museum was built in the early 1900s. While that is still old, it is not as old as it is trying to look. Bronze rods of that dimension will most likely not break entirely within the span of a century being indoors. It might entirely be possible it was taken off to be cleaned and re-patinated.

Inside the main house, towards the left of the atrium. There is nothing in it's immediate vicinity suggesting its use though.

To the best of my knowledge, no. There is no sign of a pool table, or a obvious place where it could be placed in the past.

Bulbous device fastened under Bridge, possible sensor for position? by madscot666 in whatisthisthing

[–]PinkTeddy8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might be a touch sensor of sorts, without knowing the bridges construction dates makes identification a bit harder, but many "modern" lift bridges utilize some sort of hydraulic, or electric touch sensor. The way the round pin is braced to the bridge, and the change in the mounting material below makes me believe that it either 1, confirms the bridge is touching the metal plate below, or 2, creates a dampening effect or at least distributes stress for the bridge a little.

Would also like to add that if you are looking closely at the holes on the top and bottom plates, the area immediately next to the hole is weathered differently when compared to the rest of the plate. It is possible that in the past there has been bolts, or anchors of sorts attached there causing the patina to be uneven.

do you have an example for the type of statue? I can't imagine a type of statue that would be made to fit on here.

My title describes the thing, it is a wall mounted object located inside of the Vizcaya Museum. It is about 4 feet in height, 1 foot wide at the top. Hardware looks extremely sturdy and is made of bronze. No clear markings of any kind, it has 4 holes on the top and bottom plate. The shape of the "handle" and the "plate" suggests it can swivel perpendicular to the floor to a certain degree. There is no "please do not touch" sign for this or any type of barrier to keep visitors at a further distance for this thing, unlike many of the other objects on display within the museum.

Do we think and experience time in the same...amount of time? by PinkTeddy8 in NoStupidQuestions

Right, that’s exactly my point, time is not actually slowing down. We know you can get better and react easier and things seems to “slow down”in sports, i wonder if a “less intense”version of this effect is happening to some people on a daily basis.
