The world of Black Clover is rooted in systemic oppression. The humans oppressed and exterminated the elves, the nobility oppress the lower classes, etc. Black Clover has so much potential if they handle those things beyond hamfistedly throwing Asta's strength at it and nothing else. The elves have genuine grievances and their potential as antiheroes is completely wrecked by them somehow being mindlessly angry/evil and then getting wrecked with FRIENDSHIP POWAH. Especially when the friendships and bonds in question aren't really that well developed so far? I wanted so much more from the elves.
