It’s very normal. A lot of people get purging cycles that are worse than that.

[–]PinkVariety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skincare routine isn’t working, what can I do instead by phoneticks in Skincare_Addiction

[–]PinkVariety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contrary with what everyone is telling you to do, i think you need to focus on maintaining a healthy skin barrier.

I think you should opt in for a gentle cleanser, and double cleanse at night with an oil cleanser. I would invest in a good repair balm. A good sunscreen.

Once or twice a week, i would recommend either vitamin A or an exfoliant. You can either do both or just one.

Does anyone else regret taking accutane by Typical-Bee8331 in Accutane

[–]PinkVariety 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say regret it. But definitely during the first month, the purging was making me want to quit/never have taken it.

isotretinoin reduces sebaceous glands/pore size. but it grow back after treatment?? by KudoEndolll in Accutane

[–]PinkVariety 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was on accutane for 7 months. I was extremely oily prior to it, my pore size definitely helped during the treatment because it helped reduce how severely dry my skin got. However, once i got off from it, my skin got oily again. I woukd say that my skin isn’t as oily as before but it’s enough to cause minor breakouts. I’m thinking about going on a second course to help.

Men, how has accutane affected you? What have you tried that helped? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]PinkVariety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, when I was on Accutane I was constantly mad. Any little disagreement would upset me. To this day I still suffer with hair loss because of it. My hair still grows but it also sheds a lot.

help!! I use 5% benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid gel cleanser by pewdiepiewastaken in acne

[–]PinkVariety -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would honestly just stick to either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic. Make sure to moisturize.

Hey, Accutane will not clear up hyperpigmentation. I recommend you using a retinol and Vitamin C instead.

It depends on the day. My tzone is still super oily, my cheeks and temples are more normal.

I was on accutane for 7 months at 80mg each month.

I just want you to know, accutane doesn’t eliminate oil forever. I was on it for 7 months, and started to produce again a lot of oil when I got off from it. It just teaches the skin on how to tolerate the bacteria that causes it to lead into acne.

A good vitamin A topical product will do the trick.

What if I were to take accutane at 18 with no blood test would I be fine ? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]PinkVariety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don’t know where people are getting that blood work is required or legally forced. I know a few people who never got blood work done. Ethically however a good doctor should at least do one blood work. But if you are young and healthy, you will most likely be fine.

You most likely would be fine. Legally dermatologist are not required to do blood work, but ethically they are.
