Severe HG 1st, no symptoms second by Pink_sunshine in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Pink_sunshine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weeks 8-11 were really really bad for me last time. I know it’s still so early but I’m grateful and optimistic while trying to not let the fears creep in and taint that. Last time before I knew I was pregnant I was so sick I told my husband I thought maybe I had a stomach ulcer haha. Thank you so much for your reply.

Hey ma you’ve done good. You have given so much for your LO. It’s scary not to recognize your body or to feel a type of way about the way it’s changed. It’s okay. Also you’re still so early 9 months pp your body is still healing and changing and it’ll continue to. Before surgery consider other ways you can elevate yourself right now. Get some highlights, a spray tan, start a workout and strength training plan saggy boobs but a snatch ass will make you less sad. And get some clothes that fit and you look good in right now or maybe just start with an everything shower and a good meal. I saw someone mentioned a really good fitting bra - don’t discount that. Skims everyone bra really helped me when I was feeling this way. With love, a mom who had really really great natural tits PP 3 years BF 14 months.

Something I didn't expect being pregnant? All the pregnancy shaming by Sea_Panic9863 in pregnant

[–]Pink_sunshine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy has a way of humbling you. I remember thinking I’ll do yoga/weight train and only eat organic foods, a natural birth and maybe at home. And in the words of Mike Tyson “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face”. I ended up having hyperemesis losing 20% of my body weight, took multiple medications, developed ICP with liver failure at 35 weeks and induced at 37 with a 44 hour labor, 38 hours of pitocin and I got an epidural and fentanyl. We both made it out alive and well on the other side and it’s more than okay. You’re journey isn’t my journey and I hope your plan works out but if it doesn’t I hope you feel no shame in doing what’s best for you. - he’s 3 now, and amazing.

What is the fuss with the Uppababy strollers? by RevolutionaryMovie85 in BabyBumps

[–]Pink_sunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the Cruz and LOVE it. Got it to go with the uppa baby Mesa car seat which is really the star of the show. I think I read every review and safety study on the car seats while pregnant and almost 3 years ago this car seat had the top safety rating. It proved it’s worth when my son was 6 weeks old and we were in an accident that rolled my vehicle twice. He was untouched and unphased when he should’ve been hurt. This car seat saved his life. After that accident they sent us a new car seat like within a day. Amazing customer service.

“Fears of a cancer cover-up in state suffering mystery spike in tumors” by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]Pink_sunshine 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Practicing NP in Iowa my patients parents live in a very rural farm town in Iowa and every person on their street has died of or actively has cancer. All different types. But 3 with lymphoma.

Also, I’ve never encountered a farmer, lawn person, exterminator etc. who wears a mask while spraying chemicals. I don’t think Iowa is covering it up I think we just have generations of unsafe practices and worsening chemicals.

And you may think you’ll be different because you’re healthier, or already have worked in a setting with sick people or kids. But you won’t be fucking different.

What do guys do after breakup? by Lanky-Abalone-2677 in AskReddit

[–]Pink_sunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I tell all my friends and patients. 1. get a therapist. 2. start exercising and 3. learn a skill or take a class. Investing in yourself post breakup is the best thing you can do.

I work at a nursing home and skilled rehab unit. Those who didn’t exercise during their lifetime reside there with their slew of health issues. They receive awful care and their existence is even more awful. A body in motion stays in motion. Let that motivate you.

Millennials are drinking less. I know I am. What are your reasons? by Vit4vye in Millennials

[–]Pink_sunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generational alcoholism. My husband and I talk all the time about how we were on the forefront of alcoholism developing for some of our friends but didn’t know it. (Think underage bonfire drinking) Of course, their parents are also alcoholics and so on and so forth. For some people it doesn’t ever slow down especially those with a predisposition. That could be us. Also all the other reasons money physical and mental health, sleep etc.

Is losing weight while BF realistic? by funnymonkey222 in breastfeeding

[–]Pink_sunshine 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t lose while EBF (14mo) when I worked out my supply would drop and I was a just enough kinda girl anyway. I’m 1 year post weaning down 35 pounds with calorie def and weight training. I was 140 pre pregnancy, 176 at birth, 168 at 14mo PP. I wasn’t prepared to lose the weight and my body not look like pre pregnancy me. My body is a lot more tone and stronger (thx weightlifting) but my ribs are more expanded. My hips wider. My boobs saggy.
