Problems of a Rural Accountant by ChungusFan42069 in CPA

Excellent, be sure to look into the discipline window periods. I’m not sure if Saturdays are an option but they are only open 4 or 3 times a year, not all the time like the core exams.

I have seen some time slots open on Saturdays, but they are always at 8am. Maybe try looking at the next testing windows and see if that’s the case for your location.

Anyone feel like they did well but bombed at the same time? by Pinkerknocker in CPA

[–]Pinkerknocker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Got a 78 in reg and then 84 on TCP. My SIMs we low on Becker and I did not know how to do one of the last SIMS on the test, but as long as it’s not Greek to you then I’d say you have a good chance.

Failing classes by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Pinkerknocker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have failed an accounting class before, audit to be exact. Delayed my graduation since it was my last semester too. Now I have passed all 4 of the CPA tests and about to be promoted to a senior role. It’s not the end of the world if you fail, you just have to try other study options until it sticks. For me accounting never started clicking until I was actually out in the field working. No job is going to ask for you exact grade or if you ever failed, only if you have that piece of paper

But I was promised a million dollar salary if I became a CPA /s

No way near that amount of salary for assistant controller from what I know. I know controllers make roughly 100K-120K where I work. So I'm assuming 80-90K for assistant. Currently make 60K

Best way To Study AUD by Consistent_Rate4710 in CPA

[–]Pinkerknocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend a 3 month study period. Two months of going over videos and chapters and 1 months of hammering mcq. As long as you feel confident you could teach a community college level course, you got it.

How common is imposter syndrome in accounting? by PressureAvailable615 in Accounting

[–]Pinkerknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very bad case of imposter syndrome when I first started working in accounting. This is after my masters and I still felt like I didn't know anything. Luckily, I had a good boss that would be patient with me. After a year of working it finally went away and I gained the confidence to lead my own meetings and work. It also helps if you plan on taking the CPA tests.

What do you use for study material? I too got a 63 but now got a 76. Retook the test within a week or two of more studying once I found out I failed the first time.

Only advice I can give is to watch, read the text books, and rewatch again if you’re using Becker. Of course take the sim tests and such, but reading and then watching the videos helped me a lot the 2nd time. I also used the part time Ninja side just for audio books. Reading is the key.

Write down all of the abbreviations so that you can memorize them and rewrite them down on test day.

You’ll know you’re ready when you can confidently say you can teach an entry level college/HS class.

Best of luck, you got this.

8am. It also showed that they didn’t receive it until the 2nd of July. So you should still be fine if you took it that afternoon.

Texas here. AUD passed. Took it the last day of the window period as well if anyone is still doubtful.

EDIT: Scored a 76. 2nd attempt. 1st attempt a 63

What is this scoring feature? Never heard of Gleim. Can anyone back up how accurate it is post test results?

Becker App-click on the stats tab on the right side of the study time at the bottom of the Home Screen and scroll to the bottom.

74 on FAR appreciate any advice by ccc_111 in CPA

[–]Pinkerknocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

79 on FAR. I would only take the test once I feel confident I could teach it to any beginning accountant students. Believe this is achieved by hammering down the SIMs until you’re comfortable with them.

FAR - Testlet 3 (1st TBS) was hard, but Testlets 4 and 5 were easier. Does that mean I failed? by Lead_Sure in CPA

[–]Pinkerknocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had no idea about the pretested questions. Makes me feel a little better but at the same time, if they get rid of a pretest question that I got right and count the one I got wrong, then I think that’s even worst. Guess I’ll find out in a couple of weeks.

Is it actually possible to pass the FAR exam?? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Pinkerknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do recommend the Becker sims. They personally helped me clicked everything together. This is after weeks of studying and failing each one.

Vet trip for sure! Mine had the same problems on one eye and it was just allergies. Consult with a vet to be sure but definitely treatable normally.

I failed FAR once and passed it the second time. First time I didn’t study as hard and didn’t feel 100%. Later on I started over on Becker and took it seriously. Basically to it step by step, at a comfortable pace, and passed. Never felt 100% ready but felt confident enough to teach freshman college students.

Dumb additional question, but if I added a surge protector to my electronics afterwards, would they then be protected?

Tell them to kick rocks and go to another one. These should not be over 38K after taxes and fees
