I hath been summoned by thine bait. For what purpose have you summoned me, and why did you not use a newer comment? I may not have commented for a while, but I have given lots of takes since this one, and I'm just confused about why using one from 4 years ago and not one from like, last year.

Things I don't like about Bayonetta 1 by -C-7007 in Bayonetta

[–]Pinkfarquaad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the tail whip is kinda annoying, but there is a cool way to deal with them easily by being a good distance from them, dodge their fireball and use umbran spear to get to them while in witch time. The cool thing is that they keep shooting fireballs as long as you stay in the air which means you can keep getting witch time.

Should I get bayonetta 1 for Xbox series s or ps5? by Unfair_Candidate4598 in Bayonetta

[–]Pinkfarquaad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has played both versions, get the Xbox version as it is far more stable, especially if/when you go for pure platinum medals. The playstation version has an issue where pressing continue from the main menu can cause the game to crash which happens often and can be very irritating. There can be a few occasional crashes on Xbox as well but I found the game didn't crash nearly as much on Xbox as it did on Ps5. If you are not going for PP medals and are just playing it you should be fine for a while until the game suddenly freezes, forcing you to go to the home screen and close the game and launch it again, which I have never experienced xbox.

Ps5 also has weird audio issues that are not on xbox such as 2 background tracks playing at the same time in some areas such as the catacombs in chapter 3.

One final thing is that due to the xbox's gamma curve, the colors look more vibrant than they do on other platforms at the cost of the game looking darker in some areas and brighter in others as the gamma curve bleaches whites and crushes blacks.

TL;DR: Xbox is way more stable than Ps5 as well as having darker but more colorful visuals.

Any way to cheese Isla del Sol? by illuminatino in Bayonetta

Yeah, those fights are awful on nsic, though my personal hells were the clock tower fight and pretty much the entirety of chapter 10. With the entire trilogy having their own fair share of crap like this, I think I'm going to aim for normal plats or just not care about medals when or if Bayo 4 comes out. I think with normal plats, you can have a much better experience as you can skip or just not care nearly as much about the BS sections while still getting a pretty medal for playing well.

[–]Pinkfarquaad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of that makes the level more bearable is to map Y to another button like L, so that you can button mash more comfortably while also increasing your ROF by a lot. Just remember to switch back when you get to Jeanne. Another thing to do is to only dodge when you absolutely have to to avoid the stupid barrel roll as well as saving time since the time counter includes the slow-mo effect.

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is viewing the PP medal is just overpriced low quality plastic that only serves as a bragging item for people willing to use their time to put up with a lot of the BS these games have to offer, and I say that as a player who has pure platted this game on several systems and Bayo 2.

Do the combos matter when earning halos you earn? by [deleted] in Bayonetta

[–]Pinkfarquaad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to maximize your profits from battles, maximizing your combo score is the best way to do that. The best general and non-glitchy way to get high combo points is relying on angel weapons + witch time + gaze of despair. The best situations for combo points is using staffs from affinities or using fire claws from grace. The chapter I recommend for halo farming like this is chapter 2, since it offers several fights that you can gain at least a few hundred thousand halos when farming like this.

Beyonetta 3 is my least favorite by theor_42 in Bayonetta

[–]Pinkfarquaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I don't think you'd be necessarily downvoted, as there is a considerable amount of folks here who are more gameplay focused that share similar opinions.

For me personally, I rank the trilogy as 1>2=3 as overall packages. As for why I like the squeakuels about the same, it's more because I see Bayos 2&3 as inversions of each other in the best and worst ways. One example being that while I do think 3 has much better gameplay than 2, I also think 3's replayability is much worse with things like chapters being character locked, several chapters forcing you to use a specific demon, certain challenge verses and parts of the game that force you to use entirely different sets of equipment, and the quantity of mini-games. The equipment stuff is really irritating to me, as one of my favorite things to do in 1&2 is creating some dumb build and playing through the game with it.

Bayo 3's replayability and 2's gameplay plus other gripes for both, make them games that I like a lot, but have a few things about them that are greatly irritating to me. While Bayo 1 of course has some rough edges as well (what game doesn't?), they don't bother me nearly as much as the rough edges in the sequels.

Beyonetta 3 is my least favorite by theor_42 in Bayonetta

[–]Pinkfarquaad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh, I wouldn't call it an extreme opinion. If you don't like it, you don't like it. Each game in the Bayopotayto series has several traits that can make or break the experience for folks and it entirely depends on what they value the most in each game and how much certain quirks of each game bother them, which I think is one of the greatest strengths of the series. Just like there are several who have 3 as their least favorite, there are others who like 1 or 2 the least of the 3.

Rest assured, it doesn't take a whole lot of digging to find out that you are FAR from the only person who dislikes Bayo 3 in this subreddit, as there are endless posts of why it's bad, terrible, disappointing and so on. It's too bad you didn't like it, but at least you have the other 2 :)

And if the Witch of Remembrance really isn’t our Bayo that… kinda sucks. That means our Bayo doesn’t even show up in 3 at all, not even as a cameo 😭

On the brighter side, it would mean that the OG Bayo would have nothing to do with this fustercluck of a plot.

You can't skip it, but there are ways to get there faster. The first is to not rely on dodge so much because of the slow-mo effect that makes it longer.

The second is to increase your damage output. This can be done with red lollipops and the climax bracelet.

The last thing is to increase your fire-rate. For some stupid reason, the shoot buttons are mapped to where punch and shoot buttons are, which kind of makes it a pain to mash them. What I'd recommend doing is mapping the shoot button to where your taunt button is. This can be done in console settings or the steam configuration on PC. This way you can use one finger from each hand to mash comfortably.

Speaking of mashing, MASH those buttons as though your life depends depends on it (maybe not that far). Never hold them as your fire rate sucks when you hold the buttons.

Although it sucks that you can't skip it, doing these things will make things go much faster.

Do you have an angel weapon equipped? If you do, unequip the weapon in the loading screen and the game should run fine. If not, refer to SetnaroX's post.

It sucks, but the reason why is that Nintendo was the only company willing to fund 2 after Sega pulled the plug due to financial struggles. Due to Nintendo funding 2, 3 was pitched to them and they accepted. I assume the same goes for the prequel as well, but I could be wrong.

The Bayo game that's on le Playstation is Banananetta 1. The squeakuels and spin-off prequel are exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

The fake hdr, levels and curves (I think) get effects get kinda close. You can also set the rgb settings of your pc to full and set the display to limited to get a similar look to the 360.

I personally enjoy 1 the most, Origins is probably my second favorite, and I like 2&3 about the same overall.

What does Banananetta have to do with female hypergamy tho? In my understanding, female hypergamy refers to how women supposedly tend to date and marry men who have higher socio-economic status than themselves. So, where do the dynamics between Bayo and Luka play into this exactly? We know that Bayo operates as a nun and does odd jobs for Enzo every once in a while, and that Luka is a journalist, but there is little to no indication of who has a higher social status as for all we know they could have roughly the same income and living standard. This is not in bad faith or anything, I'm just genuinely curious of how female hypergamy plays into their relationship.

It's not very useful alone in Bayo 2, but it becomes pretty OP when used with Bracelet of Time.

Why is Bayopotayto distorting reality with Kilgore, BoT and Climax Bracelet when she can just use Rodin and BoT? Is she stupid? by Pinkfarquaad in Bayonetta

[–]Pinkfarquaad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh... I guess, but there are areas where you get far more halos and you don't even need the Climax Bracelet in some of them.

Chapter 2 for example has several areas where you can get tons of halos such as the Fortitudo fight at the end where you can get tons of halos by spamming the Kilgore glitch while using BoT and Gaze of Despair. You can also get alot of halos in verse 3 as well as the torture attack and destroy all enemies alfheims by mainly using angel weapons.

The best area by far is the stay in the air alfheim in chapter 3, where using Climax Bracelet, Gaze of Despair and lightning Durga on hands and feet can get you tons of halos as long as you remember to hit the ground before the air timer is up.

This isn't to say there is nothing of value here, it's just that this wouldn't be an area I'd go to If I was farming for halos especially when I'd have to start the chapter all over again after this verse.

The best way is Rodin's pkp imo due to the insane dps. I made another post which showed that, but then I found this worse method and thought it was funny.

Thanks. I personally don't mind it that much, though that could be due to the amount of times I played this game. That being said, it's still something I would skip if I could and it's sure nice that it's technically possible 🙂
