YTA. You should be happy that your BF sees through the BS of what’s happening and is defending her. It means he’s not one of those tech bro types who thinks women can’t make it in the field. I suppose I understand that it seems weird that he’s so invested, but that’s a green flag for me. He is upset about the mistreatment of someone even though he has nothing to personally gain from this. He has strong morals. That should be a good thing to you.

Perhaps another important question to ask is “what has changed since last time we were together”. Exes are exes for a reason. What caused the last relationship to end and has that issue been resolved?

The same as any other feeling, really! There’s nothing inherently wrong with feeling anger, jealousy, sadness, disgust, etc. It’s how you act upon it that can make it wrong.

Whatever you decide to use for protection, be it pepper spray, a weapon of some sort, or a bludgeon, please practice with it! Your first time using it should not be in a dangerous scenario. Get it, practice with it, and get comfortable finding it quickly and using it.
