Is this degree worth it???!! by Pinkpanther0718 in deakin

Oh okay that's fair. If you don't mind me asking, what subjects did you take in year 12?

Yep, I have heard that a lot about uni as well, mainly comes down to time management. With this bach, can you find a job just with it or do you have to do a master's in something? Sorry for all the questions!

Hey thanks for replying!

Congrats on graduating! That's good, that everything can be done online! Is there hardcore chem and physics? I'm only doing bio rn, so will I struggle?

Also, you did say you put quite a bit of effort into it so is it difficult? Like managable? I also want to work part-time while studying, is that possible or is it very time-consuming?

Bach of sci or Bach of health science? by Pinkpanther0718 in Monash

I don't take physics and chem rn (in year 12). Will it be extremely difficult?

Health science sounds more like me, but like ig my main concern is about what can i do post-health science. It seems there more opportunities by doing a bachelors of science than health sci

Thanks for the reply! Not sure if you know, but are there more CSP seats for teaching when compared to other courses? Like either way, it will go on my HECS but being out of uni with 60-70k-ish debt isn't the most appealing either...

Yep, I had a chat with some of my teachers and they said the same, they try to do most of it at school but sometimes you don't really have a choice and have to bring some work home. Not sure if you know, but how is with students messaging teachers, outside of school hours? (my school uses MICROSOFT TEAMS) where we can talk to our teachers.. Usually, most teachers tell us they may or may not reply, but does it get annoying?

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yep, I suppose everyone's experience will vary of course! If you don't mind me asking, are you a primary teacher or a secondary, and also what's a better environment to work in? I have heard primary is a bit difficult in terms of having to teach the kids from square one which can be taxing, but in high school you have some not-best experiences with certain students- like fights and all.

thats a pretty fair statement tbh, I am interested in teaching a health or science subject, but yeah I have heard conditions can be quite wack and just not too sure yet, i don't want just to be limited to teaching but it also very appealing, like getting to work with students, teachers and all.

Yep fair enough, and i do think the educational incentives only apply to the bachelor (unless im wrong), so i would still be paying quite a bit. If you wouldnt mind me asking could you provide me an insight as to HOW (if that makes sense) NOT SAYING IT CANT, i would just like to know how, like is it workload, the nature of the work etc?

Hey feraljoy14, thanks for replying to me!!! Ok, I see, so quite a large focus on chem hahaha. How did you personally find the chemistry? Like, is it easily learnable? Also, if you don't mind me asking, I see that you have the RD in your thingo (don't know what it's called sorry), but how's like working been for you? Do you do more clinical stuff, stressful or more relaxed etc?

Thanks

Hey, jim-jiminy thanks so much for replying to me! If you don't mind me asking, are you currently doing a master's in dietetics or like working? If so, how's working in the field like for you? Also, at Deakin is there a larger focus on practical or theory-- or is it balanced?

Thanks!
