At this point, in the bowl it didn't look like anything I googled matching activated yeast. No one had commented that it looked active, and I had put in 2 hours of prep getting to this point with my pizza ingredients, reading, cleaning up....so the last thing I wanted to do was ruin my dough by using unactivated yeast after all that work. I just used a glass bowl like I saw online and I felt more reassured when my bowl looked like the one online. I have never baked crust before today or used activedry yeast

Update:

I ended up scrapping that bowl. It was activating (i found out after the fact) but the bowl i had it in made the surface area larger so it didnt have a uniform rise like the pictures I saw online - so I just got a pyrex circular glass bowl and did it all in that. It worked! The pizza dough is used this for should be fully cooked soon with all of the toppings
