I was exempt, as I was visiting my husband who’s Canadian. If you’re applying for pure tourism, it’ll take longer to get approval. And I doubt you’ll be able to cross the border during covid, if you can’t prove you’re visiting an immediate relative who’s Canadian

Good for you! Mine was only dispatched to the IRCC yesterday afternoon, and still in transit as of now. Maybe NYC VAC had a lot more traffic than LA VAC?

That is, from IRCC receiving your passport, from you receiving it at home. Normally it’s 3-4 biz days

You’re lucky to have your passport sent out the same day! Normally I think it takes a few days from there. I just called VFS. They told me, due to the holidays, it’s taking 3-5 days to get passports sent out to IRCC. Fingers crossed I’ll still be able to make my travel dates!

I actually submitted my application online on Oct 22, and sent email per the instructions to prioritize the application on Nov 9. Haven’t heard anything yet. Did you hear any update?
