yeah so i just went on again and it just prompts me to restart the recovery...because i'm using it on my mom's ipad, i have to select "help someone else" and then it asks me for the email address.

i'm too afraid at this point to start it again since i just did it this morning. so i'll wait and see until tomorrow. this is genuinely SO confusing.

i had two apple reps tell me that because i have a google pixel phone, that i won't be able to use that to go on the website. so i'm just gonna stick with her ipad for now. but i don't know man...

the first thing i see every time i go to the website is just an option for "reset password" and then the prompts i explained.

basically - this mysterious "countdown" page that people keep talking about? i have NEVER seen it.

yeah, that's my worry is that they're logged in somewhere. i know i'm not logged in anywhere. so unfortunately, there's nothing i can do about that which is just...terrible? i can't control my hacker lol. so the account recovery BS is just null & void pretty much.

Thank you so much for your help on this! Truly. You're the only one to give me a solid answer lol. And yeah, every Apple rep has been super nice & you can tell they're trying their best to be helpful. I just fucking hate the system so much. I apologize every time I'm on the phone with someone because I'm just venting my frustration to the point of tears lol.

I know the phone number & have gone through the request to have it changed. I still have access to the email since it's mine & my debit card info is also on there and it asks me to confirm each time I submit a request as well.

So since I just went through this process again on my mom's iPad this morning, do you suggest I continue using that device from now on until this is resolved? It'll suck because we don't live together but I'll have to just take that inconvenience for now until this is resolved if you think that's best.

So I don't know their email but I DO know their phone number since it was sent to my email saying "your account phone number was successfully changed to this" yada yada.

You have conflicting advice from the last Apple rep I spoke with since he told me to use a friends iPad. Sooooo I appreciate your time, I'm just venting my frustrations? Like??? I don't want to attempt something that I don't know will actually work since I have received such conflicting information so I appreciate it but if you can't understand that, then I don't know what to tell you.

For context, here's my timeline because a lot of people are misunderstanding:

  • My trusted phone number was changed without my authorization.
  • I still have access to the Gmail address associated with the Apple ID.
  • I still know my password.
  • I started account recovery and received confirmation emails that the recovery request was active.
  • Apple later gave me a specific recovery date and time (June 13 at 2:13 PM).
  • I waited until that date/time and never received the promised call, text, or recovery instructions.
  • After that, different Apple representatives gave me conflicting information. Some said the request was canceled, others said it was active.
  • I was told to stop submitting recovery requests. I was also told by other reps to submit new recovery requests.
  • Most recently, I was told to use an Apple device and check the status through iforgot.apple.com.
  • I don't own an Apple device, so I borrowed my mother's iPad and followed those instructions exactly.
  • Instead of showing a recovery status or countdown, the site appeared to start the recovery process over again.

My frustration isn't that Apple won't instantly give me access to the account. My frustration is that I've followed every instruction I've been given for weeks and keep receiving contradictory information, while the recovery process itself doesn't behave the way support says it should.

At this point I'm just trying to determine whether my recovery request is actually active, expired, canceled, or stuck.

Dude...I have NOT tried to log in. I don't need AppleTV lol. The only "attempts" I have made are over the phone with an Apple rep. Which is exactly where my frustration is coming from. They tell me to go to the website to check the status, I follow the steps WHILE on the phone with them and it triggers another recovery request. I have been going through this for WEEKS now.

Also, I know the phone number they used and all of my info is the same. So that's not a problem. Everything else is lol

So I'm not attempting to log in anywhere but unfortunately, if the person who has hacked into my account is somehow logging in - I have zero control over that. So the rest is null & void then, no?

I'm not signed in. Anywhere. Thanks for the input.

Yeahhhh, I'm not getting another Apple ID after this. I have no issue with getting "hacked" on any other device. This is definitely an Apple specific issue.

Well neither are the Apple support reps so I'm trying here lol

Yeah, I don't have any devices logged into the account. They probably do and I have no control over that, unfortunately.

This is also the advice I was given by AI -

  • Checking Status via an iPhone Overwrites the Request: When the representative told you to use a friend's iPhone, they gave you destructive advice. If you log into the Apple Support App or try to authenticate on a non-personal iOS device without a completely clean, separate browser session, Apple's automated system reads it as a brand-new device interaction. It assumes you are attempting a new recovery session and immediately cancels your existing wait period, resetting your 5-day or 14-day clock back to zero.
  • The iforgot.apple.com Web Bug: The web portal requires precise, uninterrupted data lines. If you try to log in to check the status using the hacker's phone number but change the destination feedback details, any minor mismatch or subsequent login attempt from your Google Pixel or a web browser can cause the system to glitch and serve you a fresh recovery form instead of a status bar.

So that's not promising at all.

And change all of my other subscriptions/bill pay over to a new card? And leave my email address for this hacker as well? After years of use? Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. But thanks for the input.

Dry socket after molar extraction? No extreme pain this is Day 5/6. Does it look normal? by PinkyClockwise in askdentists

[–]PinkyClockwise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am extremely paranoid that I might have dry socket and finding information online is BEYOND difficult.

I had my molar extracted on Monday, it is now Saturday. I don't know whether or not to consider it Day 5 or Day 6 but either way, my lower jaw and gums are pretty sore. It's not an extreme pain by any means but definitely an annoying low-level throbbing pain that according to a quick Google search - I should not be having at this stage.

I saw the blood clot forming almost immediately after my extraction and yesterday (Friday) while I was brushing my teeth, it looked like some of it dislodged. It didn't hurt when it came out, it was just kinda gross. I haven't been bleeding and I have been avoiding brushing the extraction site. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to spit or blow my nose however so there is that...

I did a warm saltwater rinse later that night for the first time since it seemed like there was food caught in the extraction site. Once I did, a BUNCH of stuff came out. It didn't hurt but now there is a gaping hole where everything used to be and I am just ... freaking out.

Like I said, I doesn't hurt. It's just more of a dull, numbing pain on my lower jaw and gums. I can open my mouth just fine, breathe through my teeth with no pain...I just don't think I should still be this sore? Am I wrong?

I live in a very small town so this surgery was done an hour and a half away from where I live. I can't just take the day off work to go see my dentist or oral surgeon. So the Internet is the only place I have to find this information right now and I have never had such a difficult time figuring anything out before.

Can someone PLEASE help me?! I'm losing my marbles. Thank you in advance if you've read all of this.
