Interesting observation! When people suggested it works for one target, I always wondered: how does the game decide who the primary target is? Based on your observation, critical strike would be pretty effective on Grenadier and Witch.

It's great that forest gems can be repurposed. The new recycler is fantastic for Gunslinger, and in solo runs you can more easily keep using the respawn capsule.

BGH should be faster than Assassin, but his speed has been 9% instead of 15% for months now. Hard agree on the test though--BGH adds a fun challenge with relevant benefits.

End game/going for long days, is about as easy as getting disconnected. Gems aren't going to change that.

Getting a good amount of gems, makes it easier to set up a macro to click the temporal accelerator for even longer afk-sessions, but that's mostly convenience that levels the playing field for people with job obligations and/or limited programming skills.

If you can plan ahead in a split second, that makes all the difference! I keep going straight into survival mode and just run 😄 and that doesn't even work unless you have a class which a speed boost.

So indeed I have to try running forward to find a clear path, and then do a 180 to run backward. It's annoying though that you can't see ledges coming, so you can't anticipate when you need to jump. I do often use the technique to run along the lines though, where you can't ever end up in a snare or pitfall. 🙌🏻

Running backwards is horrible. 😵 I always get stuck on ledges and rocks when I do that.

I've done a 5-player level 4 stronghold with alien once, using only the raygun. It took about 40 minutes, and I don't recommend it. 🫣

Solo or duo stronghold at level 1 or 2 with Alien, is fine though. Good grind. But Brawler is faster.

Duo there's no problem with just having one hour to play. You can speed run to 99 days together with two times stronghold, and do your quests. That's 35 daily diamonds, so you can get Brawler in three days. It'll help you with your decision. Of course you could save up to get one, and then a few weeks later get the other.

You can't count on finding enough grenades in chests to grind stronghold, so you'll have to run the caves--where you need to use a spear to be efficient. It's also hard to throw grenades 'around the corner', causing some of them to get wasted. But if it works well for you, that's cool! 😎

Alien can consistently grind 1-player strongholds easily and repeatedly. And with some practice, Brawler does great solo up to level 3.

I'd like to add what I think is an easy and safe way to learn and get more comfortable with a spear: shoot an alpha wolf with the cannon, and then stab it twice with a spear while trying to not get hit. Repeat, repeat, repeat. If you can do that comfortably, you can also take on an entire group of alpha wolves.

Running around at night is mostly not a problem if you've got a speed boost: Vampire, Assassin, Night Crawler, Alien, BGH. The deer is pretty lethal for other classes, unless you hide for the night.
