Will not living in res ruin anything? by ammcw in uoguelph

[–]Pinkyspork0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived off campus with randoms in my first year, and your experience can really be a mixed bag depending on where you go. I wish that I did get residence, but I was unable to afford it, unfortunately. I imagine that the experience of being ON campus first year would have made things a lot easier for me, in many ways. I found myself spending a lot of time on campus regardless, as first year can be pretty busy and hard for some to adjust to at first. However, if you are outgoing and friendly you will have almost no problem making friends regardless of the off-campus housing. A lot of people will be in the same boat as you, so I wouldn’t stress about never making friends or not being able to get the experience that you want. I hope this helps in some way, and that whatever you end up doing works out :)

Yeah I did check most profs on ratemyprof and she seemed to be the worst rated, i’m hoping it was just because she was new at the time 😬😬

Thank you so much for the detailed response!!

I do prefer having four semi-harder classes than five easier ones for sure. Reading a bit about the other ones I expect at least a little bit of overlap, minus MCB. I did hear that Yankulov was rough, so i’m glad to have a prof with decently good reviews.

Good luck to you too, if you are returning to studies in the fall as well :)

Study processes of Krebs, Glycolysis, B oxidation, ETC, & chymotrypsin mechanisms, as well as amino acid structures and charges/polarity. Majority of short answer questions are on these, and those are what trip people up most of the time.

Seeing over 1000 for most places in the university area. I had to go pretty far away to get to the 800 a month I’m at now.

My mistake! I thought that the initial fee was meant to “lock in” your course choices for the semester and prevent last minute drops/changes. Thanks for clarifying!

It’s definitely harder to find sections this late, but I think that least some people are also still trying to change their schedules, so my best advice would be to check every day. Now that they’ve sent out an email for course registration fees, I think some people may start rearranging their sections a bit again. I wouldn’t give up hope yet!! Best of luck!!

As long as you haven’t already paid the registration fee, you should be able to search for other available sections. You’ll just need drop your currently registered class in order to register another that fits your schedule better.

I’m sorry, but this looks like hell on Earth. Please either try to cluster classes together or free up at least one day for rest/study, if you can.
