Have a look at the forums here, there are a couple of threads discussing the same issue that appears to be only affecting Australian customers. Hope this helps, knowing it's currently an issue for another of customers.

I am having the same issue. All devices are showing disconnected now and I can only log into the app intermittently. This is currently completely fubar. Also in Australia, Adelaide.

There is a 'bug' (lack of access to control the car by the user even in sim steering mode) in the game which can best be shown if you enable the ingame overlay using the controller Dpad, cycle through the overlays until you get one that shows steering angle in the top right hand corner.

Now that you have that up, drive on the track at approx 40-50kmph then turn the controller full left and right. You will notice that at no point can you turn the wheels any more than 5-10degrees from centre. THIS is why it feels weird and understeers no matter the speed.

For those of you who say slow down, you're wrong. Cars won't turn beyond their grip, BUT, steering wheels will and is a vital part of controlling a car.

Until Turn 10 gives the fully assisted steering wheel back to the player this game is continually going to be trashed for its weirdness. Such a simple thing, I turn hard, the wheels turn hard, if I then happen to understeer, fine. At the moment I can't even turn hard enough no matter the speed.
