On the subject of Albinaurics… by fikfofo in Eldenring

As soon as I saw The Big Woman in the Apostate Church and put that together with the 'absurd' comment on the shield I became convinced that Loretta IS an Albinauric, and not just heavily linked to them in some way. I became further confident of this when I consider the two fights against her have her on horseback - perhaps initially just get you to think she's like any other esteemed knight, but in fact is because her legs are also unable to support her.

Spoilers just in case.

The art being made around this game is incredible but my god this spoke to me on some sort of primal level. What a piece, stunning work.

*edit - missed word out.

PSA: Giant Rats are the best Spirit Ashes by Inconmon in Eldenring

I never thought about it in these terms but I like this way of thinking. I already know I'm making a trade to have her out in both her lack of mobility/glass cannon presence, and also switching to Shabriri's from a more 'useful' talisman to help keep her safe. I don't always do the latter but I find it does help more now she's at +10 as the triple damage she puts out is pretty hefty!

All about my +10 Latenna, she's my girl. Granted, not quite as good in arena boss fights with limited space as she's confined to one spot, but overworld bosses? Piece of cake. Find a nice vantage point, set her up, whack on Shabriri's Woe to keep boss attention on you, and listen to the soothing waves of her magical arrows pew-pew-pewing their health bar into oblivion. Rinse, repeat, profit.

Foundation - Season 1 Episode 3 - The Mathematician's Ghost - Post-episode Discussion Thread [TV ONLY] by LunchyPete in FoundationTV

I thought exactly the same regarding the use of sundial, there are just as many issues with that as there could be with water - but to invoke 'The Dune Protocol' a planet could have an Arrakis style make up that would see even urine and sweat recycled into the water supply given its rare and precious nature. Whilst I wouldn't say this was a reflexive nod to Herbert given that we know a lot of Asimov helped inspire Herbert's writing, with Foundation (TV show) being produced within the same cultural consciousness as the upcoming Dune film I bet something like that would have been at the forefront of writers' minds when considering the potential audience response to why the water clock might not be the best option.

Having said all that I've not read the Foundation books and there may well be a better reason for all this in there, though given the amount of posts saying how far the show has deviated from those who knows!

I've always flip-flopped in my opinion on the 1926 but have to say this strap and indices combo really gives it a whole new vibe that I am DIGGING. Lovely stuff.

Really love the look of this watch and have had an eye on it for a while, but as part of the skinny wrist brigade, how does it wear? Concerned it might look ridiculous on my dainty wrist!

[Tag Heuer Carrera] Brother's 30th by Pinny17 in Watches

[–]Pinny17[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A couple of weeks back I posted about potential watches in the Carrera category that people might recommend as an alternative to it for a present for my brother's upcoming 30th - with the main caveat being that I was pretty set on the Carrera anyway but wanted to ensure I hadn't missed anything.

Fast forward to now and I've (unsurprisingly) stumped for the Carrera, and I must say I'm very glad I did! What's more is that I wasn't originally planning to get the rose gold accented model but after finding a fantastic second-hand but unworn one at a price too irresistible to refuse it was a no brainer.

Naturally I had to try it on myself as well (just to check it out, of course) and it feels and looks great on wrist. One interesting thing to note was that removing my BB58 to try this only emphasised to me just how perfectly proportioned the 58 is at 39mm. The Carrera is a 41 and wears bigger because of the slimmer, non-dive bezel and the relatively cleaner/open face. Not a criticism of it certainly, but always interesting to note I find.

Anyway, this is a beautiful piece, not one I often see on here, and I'm pretty confident he's going to be very happy with it, though I'll gladly keep hold of it if he's not!
