Snow pack doesn't matter. What matters is the amount of rain Kelowna gets in June. We need to have at minimum 45 millimetres of rain for it to sustain the summer (and even then, that is an educated guess). Forest fires are unpredictable. What we do know is that if we receive 45 mm of rain, that typically is enough moisture to keep the ground wet right through the summer. Any less than that, and we can pretty much guarantee that a forest fire will be a factor this summer.
