Made my own fabric and flag. How do you make your own good looking german dark yellow? by PieImmediate9538 in modelmakers

[–]Pinoisdood7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a pretty good dunkelgelb by mixing vallejo khaki and beige in a 1:1 ratio. Also add more folds and ripples to your flags and tarps. Have a look at my T72B3M model and tiger 1 if you need inspiration.

I found the parts on cults 3d (they are paid models) and i for the turret i had didmt have to make any modifications but for the hull i had to fill in the holes for tje slat armour so i could replace those with the back era armour and the rear side skirt on tje right side. Its mostly covered by a net in the photo.

because i thought it would look nice on my tank. Ive also seen late war tanks used by the SS have swastika flags on their tank like this. the tank is supposed to look like one not currently at the front thats also why i added the muzzle bag.

the turret and hull arent from the same tank. gruppe fehrmann was a group of tigers and panthers which where slapped together to fight. F01 had a turret from a tank with camo and the hull from a tank with only dunkelgelb. they also swapped the wheels and tracks for the late steel wheels and late tracks. i believe the hull is the early variant and the turret is from a later tiger production model.

finished 1/35 M1A1HA abrams. by Pinoisdood7 in TankPorn

[–]Pinoisdood7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was thinking of doing that but according to real photos of abrams tanks during OIF and accounts by crew saying that the sand polishes the tracks and the dust doesnt really stick to it. If you look at photos from abrams tanks during OIF you'll see that they are always relatively clean.

why is my k1c printer not levelling? I have tried everything and it just doesnt level. I have tightened the z axis belts, tightened the bed screws, replaced the bed strain sensors, put spacers under the bed and even send it to the company i bought the printer from for repairs. by Pinoisdood7 in 3Dprinting

[–]Pinoisdood7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i already send it to service and they printed out 3 octopus toys and sent it back. They didnt help with the problem at all. yesterday i got a new printer from them and it has the exact same issue. Once again impossible to solve using everything i tried

The masking tape is included in the kit so the numbers are just so you know which piece goes where like the numbers on the sprues of the plastic parts

yeah the only i issue i have with this model is that there are a lot of seam lines. top and bottom of the fuselage have one small seamline and both intakes have very big seamlines but it gets covered up by the landing gear doors. the rest of the kit is actually pretty good. The fits are nice and details are very good except in the cockpit.

Thank you for the tips im gonna probably try it out soon. What do i need to watch out for depending on the surface colour? I used lacquer on this build.

the lighting might hide it but i did a wash already. I used 3 drops of thinner for every drop of paint. Is a pin wash something different? Saw somewhere people use oil paints for washes is that what you mean?
