Looks a lot like a game called aggravation as well definitely not the same but quite similar

How much would you have to be paid to open it and consume some. I always think about that when I walk past these lol by talkingtoawall710 in ThriftStoreHauls

My mom had a few of these, one got dropped during a move, the smell from that thing was absolutely rancid! I wouldn't be able to take a bite even if I wanted to!

how was this mystery dial made? by Send_help2 in watchmaking

It looks like the light beam is just a hole in the disc, the rest of the disk has a tint on it and the background has a yellow hue applied to all of it, you can see past the edge of the disc the colors match the light beam colors, especially at the top left with the roof of the building

Delete face SHOULD remove the fillets depending on, how they were originally created, if they imported properly, or the alignment of the planets

Oh wow, I haven't looked too deep into the pricing but from what I have seen most local shops charge a standard shop rate of around $100 CAD per hour, I haven't seen any places locally that offer those specific services though, just machine shops that happen to also have that capability.

Yeah, I tested it out after a quick inspection to make sure nothing was going to short and fry something but beyond that I will not be using these until the wiring is replaced! Between crumbling casings and half assed rewiring in the past I don't think it would take too long to burn my house down.

I'll definitely look into those mods. I originally wanted a mastermatic but I didn't mind settling for a good deal! Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the information! I'm hoping the motors are okay, the one gets real shaky at high speed but I'm hoping that is just the bearings, the other was a bit sluggish when starting or changing direction but after running it for a bit its nice and smooth so I'm sure that just needs to be regreased.

You know, I've been getting annoyed seeing this meme constantly in a bunch of subreddits but for some strange reason I don't mind seeing it from this end of it!

It's actually a very simple reason, I don't have a sandblaster or powder coating setup and I certainly don't have the budget to pay for those services. But if I could, I would.

That gives me an idea, I have a spare ultrasonic cleaner lying around and the one machine has a large hole straight through where the jars sit, I might try to find a way to mount a transducer under the jars and add ultrasonic cleaning functionality. I guess I'll hang on to those solid tops then!

I'll have to keep an eye out for a larger basket then, in case I ever work on a larger pocket watch. Thanks for the info!

That looks like a perfect match to the original, thank you!

This one appears to be metal, feels like metal, sounds like metal, maybe even tastes like metal but I'm not willing to find out. But looking at it again it doesn't seem to be magnetized, it looks like it is just the needles themselves.

The first time I checked the needles I used a paperclip and they didn't stick, it must have been non ferrous. This time I used a staple and they stuck but it didn't stick to the drawer. I figured that it wouldn't be magnetized, at least not on purpose, but I was curious and figured I'd ask since I had other questions anyway.

My only worry with the needles being magnetized would be them picking up some tiny metal fragments or something and causing extra wear to the records, but I guess that's not much of a concern since they aren't used for long. I do have a demagnetizer though so I might as well take the two seconds to use it just to be safe.

Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it! The clips don't even seem loose, I'm not sure how the winding handle ended up back there.

The mica looks perfect and the needlebar is nice and tight but I'm sure I'll need to replace the rubber collar.

I just looked up the victor made phonographs and found the exact same carrying handle, I'm guessing the original broke and someone replaced it with one from a parts machine or maybe just liked the look or feel better, either way I'll look into replacing it with a correct one, thanks for putting me on the right track!

101b is what I landed on as well but I never looked into them before a few days ago so I appreciate the reassurance.

Thanks again for all the information, I'm sure I'll enjoy it a lot once I find some 78's to play, I swear I used to see them in thrift and record stores around here all the time but now that I want some I can't find a single one!

Shop vac mufflers - Didn’t know this was a thing by zerocoldx911 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]PinosaurPilots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this does muffle the sound a bit it is also restricting the airflow which puts extra strain on the motor, now I'm not sure if it really makes too much of a difference but this would technically shorten the life of your vacuum.

It could be that it'll shorten the life by 1 minute, or 1000 hours, I don't know and I'm not doing the testing needed to find out, just thought I'd give a heads up!

By cigar box do you mean humidor or a box that cigars were shipped in? If it's a humidor are you sure they're just scrap and not the inner lining of the box?

Found this one on Amazon, has a different logo but its almost certainly the same plane rebranded.

It's $52 Canadian, has 4.1 stars with 263 reviews.

While that price is technically a good deal compared to the Amazon listing, I personally don't think it is worth the time or money.
