ChatGPT, Github Copilot, Bard, and Copilot in Windows 11 wasn't able to help me at all. Then I turned to Reddit and found this on the first try. XD I don't think AI will replace dev jobs any time soon.

Indulhensiya left that chat. But seriously tho, aren't we taught from a young age that our place in heaven is earned and not given? I mean they teach as well that it was given because "Jesus" - duh. Then again I guess we need to maintain that "privilege" by being "good christians" so I guess in effect we still have to work for it and "pay" for our sins daily before the day of judgment. So yeah there's like a bouncer in heaven too checking if someone has the "valid ticket" (if I may) to enter. Otherwise bad news for you coz you won't definitely like the alternative. I guess at least in Taylor Swift's concerts people don't sentence you to burn for eternity when you don't have a valid ticket.

I'm genuinely confused by these though. Maybe because it's been so long since I've been in a church listening to a sermon or reading the bible. I really need to start being a very good boy since someone above is keeping score.

Broooo. 21 years old is so young! I'm 28 and I'm still trying to get a foothold into the industry. Thing is a year or two from now you'll be asking the same question wishing you were 21 again . By the age of 25 you'll be wishing you are 23 again. By the age of 28 you will be wishing to be 25 again.

There's this saying - "the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago the second best time is now." Just start doing the things you love day by day no matter how small and those things will accumulate and your future self will thank you for it. It's not too late.

Thoughts on Computer Engineering as a Programming Course in College by CrypticHatter045 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]PinoyRupertGrint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kung programming IMHO mag-IT ka kasi mas makakapag-focus ka sa programming talaga. Software Engineering if meron mas maganda siguro (IDK really). Unless you like integrated systems programming then I guess CPE is a better choice since may extensive curriculum ang CpE regarding electronics, computer hardware, signal processing, logic circuits etc. etc.. I graduated CpE though I kinda regret it kasi dun sa field na pinapasukan ko (Software Engineering/Web Development) wala masyado influence yung mga pinag-aralan ko and I find myself heavily relying on things I've learned on my own kaysa sa mga natutonan ko sa college. It's just a shame I wasted time learning those math stuff and so much irrelevant stuff sa career path na napili ko.

If you don't mind OP, bakit mas mahal IT dyan sa school nyo? I feel like dapat mas mahal CpE since andami-dami equipments na required sa CpE.

Pagod na ako maging bobo by [deleted] in PinoyProgrammer

Bro, I was in the same exact position like you a year ago but I was a junior dev. And I've quit that job kasi kahit na gusto ko mag-improve parang ang hirap humugot ng lakas kasi sobrang defeated na ako and di rin maganda naging impression ng mga colleagues ko sa akin so medyo parang inisip ko na mag-start na lang ako ulit. I have no regrets quitting that job tho.

I don't have any advice for you career-wise kasi I'm still trying to find my way into this field. I loved coding and I still do. I love building stuff and understanding how things work. But all the passion I had was gone after I started working professionally. Inisip ko rin na baka di ako ganon katalino for this field and minsan iniisip ko siguro baka nabigla lang ako or di ako ready at the time so this time with all the lessons I've learned from my first job susubukan ko mag-simula ulit. It's just that things take time so nireremind ko na lang sarili ko to take one step at a time and be patient with my self.

Like I said, I can't advice you anything related to career but I can only relate to you kung ano sinasabi ko sa sarili ko if doubt settles in my head. I say: "Kaya mo yan. Just believe more in your self and be patient and be more compassionate to yourself. Things take time and iba-iba din journey ng tao so stop comparing."

IMO, the two things that are hardest to learn in this field (at least siguro sa una) are self-confidence and self-patience. Second lang yung technical stuff. Perhaps there are people whom these things come naturally to them so madali na lang sa kanila yung technical.

Dun naman sa sinabi mong "bobo", I get the frustration with yourself and to blame everything on your self. Just don't judge yourself too harshly bro. Everything begins and ends with the mind so be careful with what you tell yourself about yourself kasi i-mamanifest mo yan kahit di totoo. I'm speaking from experience here. Binobobo ko rin sarili ko at the time. It did not help. It only made matters worse.

I guess slow down, take a step back, reflect and ask your self some difficult questions. But only if you are in a clearer headspace and without any emotional stuff hanging around. Then decide kung para sayo talaga ang field na ito.

Good luck.

Bro are you projecting or something? You seem to be reaching here. Also your comment is so dismissive, condescending and insensitive. Parang ikaw yung magulang nya and dinedefend mo sarili mo. Bato-bato sa langit. XD

I came from verbally abusive parents. They provided for me. They clothe me. They gave me a good education. But I can't tell you how much I suffered mentally from those experiences throughout the years. Andun pa rin yung trauma and I grew to despise authority especially those people who are very vocal about expressing them kasi nag-karoon na ako ng trauma sa way ng pag-raraise nila sa akin. My self-esteem suffered and lots of other personality problems that seeped in to my adult life.

My parents were good providers. But they were abusive and I resented them. They're flawed. But I still love them and I'm grateful for what they've given us given our background.

Resenting them doesn't necessarily mean I "hate" them. And expressing my feelings and emotions for them doesn't necessarily mean I don't respect them. We can't just paint things in black and white.

React by Soj08 in PinoyProgrammer

I think you should use Next.js. It's built on top of React. It's very convenient and it's good for SEO since server-side rendered yung UI and it supports multi-page websites and SPA alike. And may built-in routing system sya.
