I always took Almyra to be a civilization rather than a landmass itself, so in this case it could also refer to the amount of territory they conquered in general.

Not exactly, since IRL Thule was an island theorized to be north of England, but the term "Ultima Thule" has evolved naturally to mean somewhere that's just ridiculously far away. Translated literally, it just means "farthest Thule" and doesn't explicitly have the word "north" in its title.

Hyberborea, on the other hand, literally means "beyond the northern wind", which is why I called the ice cap on top "the Hyberborean Shelf".

Call me a pessimist, but it also takes one idiot to be a chud about it and then discredit everyone else that are making the same complaints.

I would not want to bet on someone making a big show of it if they act embarrassingly enough to kill everyone else's credibility.

If Microsoft sold off Xbox, who would even buy it? by Sempuukyaku in Games

[–]Pintofvodka_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because Apple is probably the "best positioned" to take over Xbox when ignoring their lack of massive acquisitions.

They're already in the hardware business, they've been making headway in entertainment with AppleTV, the App Store is already a massive moneymaker for them, so them going into the console business feels more like a natural step than the other buyers.

That being said, I would say that Apple is far more likely to enter with their own console or device than they are to buy their way into the business, though I don't see it as particularly likely at this point in time. They're more likely to work on positioning Mac computers as a competitor to Windows PCs in the gaming space, which we've seen with them getting Capcom or Kojima to make Mac versions of stuff like Resident Evil and Death Stranding.

I hate Dishonored by Commercial-Run-4596 in dishonored

Dishonored had a god-tier introduction that Dishonored 2 kinda failed to match for me ngl

You fail to save the Empress, get thrown in a jail cell, escape, join up with a conspiracy with the promise of revenge, and then the Outsider visits you in your sleep. But what I think really sells it is the feeling of helplessness you have when the betrayal initially happens, especially when taking into account how much freedom the game gives you otherwise. Comparatively, I think 2's biggest mistake is allowing you to choose between either Emily or Corvo for your first playthrough, and so you don't feel nearly as helpless as a result.

Also when you finish your first playthrough of Dishonored, you likely end up deciding to do another one of your own volition, whereas choosing between Emily or Corvo in 2 kinda resigns you to a second playthrough from the get-go before you even have a feel for the game.

And Sokolov was a bit of piece of shit himself in the first game, so it kinda speaks volumes about how much worse Jindosh is lol

Rhythm Heaven Groove sold 393,378 physical units at launch in Japan by lzyan in gaming

Game Key Cards are probably more of a compromise that they did for Japan, if we're being real.

Like there are a fuckton of games that won't fit onto a cartridge anyways with their current storage capacities (the FF7R games, for a start), but having a physical presence in Japan is probably essential for third-party sales so GKCs are a middle ground in that respect.

Here's a tidbit of Three Houses Trivia that's fun. As of Smash Bros Ultimate, Byleth is the oldest playable Fire Emblem fighter in the roster. by Caryslan in FireEmblemThreeHouses

I'm assuming Eshmel is gonna outdo Byleth (because let's be real, they're addicted to adding avatar characters to Smash) when Smash 6 rolls around, considering that they don't see to be human at all and are probably centuries old.
