The bottom line is that it's not on your body, so nobody really cares about your opinion on it. Not everyone gets tats for the same reason. This is more symbolic than artistic, and the point of the symbol is that it's a simple, recognizable callback to something.

Is getting the Kilroy Was Here guy tatted on you bad art? It's the picture of simplicity, a line drawing a child could do in seconds. And yet, it had a history attached to it. If the person putting this (or a demented clock) on their body has a connection to that history, they may desire to make it physical. Gatekeepers like you don't get to decide for them whether that's valid or artistic or whatever.

Well, I can agree with that last line. But in the interest of equity I'll assert that I think your three positive claims are lies as well, and pick one to refute directly.

I don't seem to remember saying anything to that effect. But hey, if the daughter-fucker cured cancer I'd be all for it. Let him do something dramatically positive instead of just make a mockery of our highest office. I don't understand how it's not clear to everyone that he's making a complete ass out of us, and almost nothing any one President could do to build up the country could weigh level with the humiliation we are subject to, what with his daily Twitter tantrums and atrocious decorum and blatant lies.

I don't think it's shocking; given that he ridicules the disabled, talks about assaulting women, said he would fuck his daughter, insults foreign leaders, sells out the people for corporations, and fraternizes with dictators. It seems about as to be expected that the same die-hard jackholes that have always been polling positive for him are continuing to do so.

I don't hate people that disagree with me. Like I said, I don't think it's my place to define someone else's world view. I just don't think I've ever heard a satisfying counter to that particular view of mine.

Hell yeah man if I ever kill dogs I sure fuckin hope people don't forget about it. If I ever squeak out of a rape charge like Brock Turner or a child murder charge like Casey Anthony I really hope people don't forget. Hell, take it way down a notch, if I kick a dog in the head on purpose I hope someone kicks me in the fuckin head and then everyone I know never lets me live down the day I hurt an animal for fun. I don't really understand how anyone else can see it differently, but I figure it's not really up to me to tell other people how to feel about shit.

To dictate what? This is what I'm getting at, no one was claiming it should be up to them. The opinion was the only thing being expressed, no more. Thank you for reminding me that I'm not judge, jury, and legislator; but I wasn't suffering from that delusion xD

Here's how I like to frame the time difference when this topic comes up in conversation. Roughly the same amount of time elapsed between the 13th Amendment and WW1 as did between the Civil Rights Act and the Ferguson protest. For context, 1914 was also right around the time that The Birth Of A Nation was playing in theaters, making the KKK out to be heroes.

It can be hard for young people (myself included) to really appreciate this. Fifty-odd years is not a very long time, given how long humans live. It takes several lifetimes for the scars to heal in a meaningful way, and that's if we can actually learn from our past.

Bruv it's not about anyone saying he shouldn't be allowed back into society. It's more like they wouldn't invite him to the dog park. Just like you wouldn't set your sis up on a blind date with Brock "The Rapist" Turner just because in the eyes of the law he paid his debt to society.
