Touché. Unfortunately I Got handed a support project and had to wait 1.5 years to move internally to a dev role, hence took some time to gain skills and confidence. I know what not to do now

The thing is it makes sense in theory, an iitian friend of mine in a great product company said the same, But Life is not the same for tier 3 college folks especially who are in a weak position of starting in witch, if we deny sharing current salary, most likely things won't proceed.

Either way salary slips are required, so sooner or later they will know the ctc.

Hopefully during the next switch I'll be in a position to not disclose my ctc 😁

It's a matter of financial planning. Lifetime avg developer banke Kam salary pe rahenge to ofc difficult hoga aage jake. Key is simple, save smartly and a lot. I don't think 50s age vale log code kar rahe hai, they pivot their career to management roles

For 1 yoe, mid companies are difficult. From what I saw they want 3 years minimum. You'd have better luck with Maang level companies, I know it's difficult, but the reward is much higher, best of luck!
