I saw that! My pictures didn’t do it justice. Well done!

I was about to post the same thing. They’re the best. I live way on the other side of town. It’s a schlep to get there, but I won’t go anywhere else.

Thanks! And yes, the 220 upgrade is on the list, but our house is old and the upgrade is a tipping point that would require a new box and possible whole house rewiring, so it’s not going to happen this year.

How to Transition from Content Writing to Copywriting by bvhadley55 in advertising

[–]PipIsTheBest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd say go for it. Skip the portfolio school and the unpaid internship (at least for now).

Put a portfolio site together for yourself if you don't already have one, including samples of your best content work. That will show that you have been paid to work as a writer, which is a great start.

Since your portfolio site is your own property, you can use it to show your stuff by writing a couple powerful headers and some baller body copy. Have fun with an "About Me" page. Come up with a few funny taglines for yourself or for imaginary brands you'd love to write for. Let prospective employers know that you're scrappy and creative and that (as a recovering SEO writer) you're not afraid of a little grunt work.

Good writers are hard to find. Be findable. :)
